Job Description
St. Petersburg University Graduate School of Management (SPbU GSOM) is looking to hire an Associate and Full Professor in all fields of Big Data analysis to cover following set of disciplines:
▪ Introduction to Big Data Modern Technologies
▪ Deep Learning for Business Applications
▪ Deep Dive into Big Data Modern Technologies
▪ Etc.
Applications for Senior lecturer will also be considered. Exceptional candidates will be considered for a higher position and salary.
The appointments are for permanent positions and contracts will be made up to three years in the first instance, starting in September 2021, with reviews of teaching and research at the end of each year.
The position will offer internationally competitive teaching loads; research resources and a university environment that fosters multidisciplinary collaboration and research productivity. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in doctoral supervision as well as offer electives in the university’s Executive MBA in areas of the candidate’s research interests.
Experience in industry (IT, data analysis, data science) would be a plus.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in a computer science, business informatics or a related discipline. All degree requirements must be complete at the commencement of the appointment. The degree must be from a Ph.D. program with a strong research focus. Priority will be given to those candidates with a proven ability to conduct high-level research.
As a candidate, you should have a research background in any of the areas of Big Data analysis and have an interest in conducting research that has practical implications for organizations. The successful applicant will be expected to publish scholarly research in high quality academic journals, demonstrate superior teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and advise bachelor, master students or supervise doctoral students.
Applications must demonstrate a record of and commitment to scholarly research through publications in high-ranked international peer-reviewed journals; evidence of teaching excellence, course and curriculum development, including teaching in executive education.
Experience from designing and delivering courses, as well as from coaching student projects is considered a merit. Teaching (in English) falls within the sought-after areas on all educational levels (from Bachelor to Executive Education). Supervision of master and/or doctoral students is considered part of the job.
Candidates are also expected to be actively involved in various processes at school, interaction with faculty members, contribution to school’s strategic planning and strategy execution, committee work and other services.
