Pittsburgh Penguins Top Prospect Suspended Indefinitely

The Ontario Hockey League has suspended the Pittsburgh Penguins top prospect, Eric Tangradi, recently traded from the Anaheim Ducks.

Tangradi was chasing John Tavares for the scoring championship of the OHL this year.

He got a 10-minute misconduct and a two game suspension from on-ice officials for throwing a water bottle at a referee or a linesman.

The OHL suspended him indefinitely after the game in Oshawa, Ontario against Tavare's and Bobby Orr's old team, the Generals.

The Bellville Bulls won the game against the Generals but lost their leading scorer and team captain.

Tangradi, an American, is from the Philadelphia area.

The Penguins traded for Chris Kunitz and Bill Guerin at the NHL Trade Deadline and went on a seven game winning streak.

Pittsburgh has leapfrogged over the New York Rangers and the Carolina Hurricanes to take sixth place in the playoff race in the Eastern Conference of the NHL.

Tangradi had 38 goals and 50 assists for 88-points, second only to Tavares who has 58 goals and 46 assist in 55 games for 103-points, as well as a league record 215 career goals. He recently set a new scoring record in the OHL.
