Aftermath of Taliban attack at Camp Bastion
The BBC has learnt more about the four hour firefight inside one of the largest NATO bases in Afghanistan.
British and US soldiers battled against insurgents wearing US army uniforms inside Camp Bastion, in Helmand province.
Two US Marines were killed and number of aircraft and hangars were damaged.
Quentin Sommerville spoke to some of the soldiers who are based there.
