Video: Cool as fek: Nokia N900 + MeeGo 1.1.8 + Xbox Media Centre (XMBC!)
I love XBMC – Xbox Media Centre. It’s such a great interface I think for movie watching, especially with plugins from IMDB and whatnot bringing details about your films.
Now think about hooking this up to your TV, connecting it via BT remote, perhaps even an IR remote since it does have an IR app and IR receiver. BAM – pocketable media centre. This would be soooo great on a MeeGo phone or any MeeGo tablet. I hope Nokia get some more inspiration from Media Centre like apps (XBMC or even the Windows 7 media centre as that’s pretty slick) for big screen like media interface when hooking up to a TV or monitor as they improve their Symbian App, “Nokia Big Screen“. Perhaps create a Nokia Original Accessory by way of a simple bluetooth remote control when we use TV out/HDMI.
Right now photo viewing and music playback is ok but video needs some fixing as the codecs aren’t compiled properly in this set up yet so it isn’t able to play the two videos included yet.
