Fifa 10 Ultimate Team Tips And Strategies

Updated on May 27, 2023

Ultimate Team is the hugely popular add-on for Fifa 10, it is available for 400 Microsoft points and is an incredibly addictive virtual card trading and swapping game, using coins earned through playing matches and trading players online you can build up to 15 squads of your favourite players.

Not only are there players to collect and trade there are also stadiums, balls, formation cards, tactical cards and training/fitness cards all of which add to the experience which is the ultimate team.

In this guide, I will be telling you how to earn coins quickly and efficiently and some of the tricks and tips to make sure you don't concede one end and you score lots of goals on the other end.

You can also buy coins with real-life cash to exchange for payer packs but I have found that you don't get quite as good players as if you brought them with your in-game winnings.

There are no cheats to get extra coins so they all have to be earned I'm afraid either by hard work on the pitch or cunning work in the trading area, I will explain how this can be achieved.

Earning Coins

As I said above there are no cheats to earn coins and if there were it would spoil the game, the addictiveness of this game doesn't come from having the best team in the world, it comes from starting with nothing and amassing a team of world beaters.

Playing Matches: Obviously playing matches is the best way to start earning coins from the off but the matches are scored in a number of different ways to enable you to earn coins, firstly as I'm sure you would have guessed the more goals you score the more coins you earn but what makes the biggest difference is the level you play at and the difference in the team, For example, if you played as Barcelona vs Portsmouth on beginner then played as a league 2 side vs Barcelona on professional and won, the difference in coins could be as much as 500.

So find your skill level so you're actually tested in a game and use it, then make sure you play a few games where you are the weaker team as this all helps.

Also scored are possession, corners and shots on target, these all give you coins and the more you get the more coins you earn, what goes against you are red and yellow cards, fouls and goals conceded. Try and remember all these tips next time you play on the ultimate team.

Trading Players: Now if you are crafty like me this is where you could make a lot of coins it does take time but within say a week or so if you have played every day and if you have made the right choices you could be making up to 10,000 coins with one trade alone.

To start trading you will need to already have a fairly good team of gold players with a full bench and reserve players at gold standard, check through your squads and find a couple of gold-rated players that you are not using and who are not in your future plans, now put them up for auction for an hour or three at a reasonable price i would say starting price of 250 and buy it now of 800-1000, now say you get 800 for one and 700 for the other you now have 1500 coins to play with, this is when it gets interesting and when you have to be clever.

Hit the trading area and go to the search menu, now when your there let's get some filters changed, you are going to need to search for gold players and also I would suggest leaving the player position as ANY and the league as premiership as most of the online traders will know the premier league players and its the deepest roster of players.

Once you have done that see what comes up and remember they are listed in expiry time order, buy a popular player for 1500 coins then list him at starting price of 600 and buy it now at the price of 1750, it is most likely that someone will not want to wait and will buy it now, just keep buying quality players and selling them at a profit.

I ended up after about 10 hours trading having players like john terry, Joe Cole, and Michael Carrick, when selling these kinds of players I can earn 4-5000 coins per trade, then after that bring on the likes of Rooney, Torres, Drogba these guys can earn u up to 25,000 coins per sale, Give it a go and see how you get on.

Playing Tips

I cannot make you unbeatable overnight but I can help you win a few matches online and win against your mates.

1: Possession, possession, possession i can't state how important this is, if you cannot see a pass in front of you then play it backwards, it doesn't matter, as long as you keep possession

2: Passing, keep passing whether it's forwards or backwards or high crosses to the other side of the field to switch the play.

3:When the opposition is running at you, dont engage straight away and if you do just one defender at a time so you dont leave yourself open,

4:Play with a sweeper if you are not confident with your defence as this will leave one man behind to cover your defence.

5:Create your set pieces before you start playing so you have an advantage when taking corners etc.

6:Practice against people better than you, practice, practice, practice.
