Update: Suspect Arrested in District Heights Robbery Case

A 71-year-old woman was robbed in District Heights last month.

Update, 3/8, 12:30 p.m.: District 3 Police officers have arrested Jonah Salih-Khalil Iman in connection with the robbery of a 71-year-old District Heights woman at a Cigarette Discount last month.

On Feb. 25, the woman was in the store when the suspect entered and posed as a customer. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s purse, which was slung over her arm, causing the victim to fall over as the suspect fled the store on foot. 

The victim sustained fractures to her knee cap and finger, as well as bruised ribs, and abrasions to her hands.

Update 3/3, 12:40 p.m.: Prince George's County Police detectives have identified 32-year-old Jonah Salih-Khalil Iman, of the 2200 block of Shadyside Avenue in Suitland, as the person who robbed a 71-year-old District Heights woman at a Cigarette Discount last week.

Detectives discovered his identity from a surveillance video obtained from the store. A warrant has been issued for Iman’s arrest. He is described as 5’6”, weighing roughly 160 pounds with neck-length corn rows, and a tear drop tattoo under his left eye.

Original Report: The Prince George’s County Police Department’s District 3 Robbery Suppression Team wants the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with the robbery of a 71-year-old woman in District Heights this morning.

At about 9:20 a.m., the woman was at the Cigarette Discount located in the 5700 block of Silver Hill Road when the suspect entered the store posing as a customer.  The suspect then grabbed the victim’s purse, which was slung over her arm, causing the victim to fall over as the suspect fled the store on foot. 

The victim sustained fractures to her knee cap and finger, as well as bruised ribs, and abrasions to her hands.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing all black clothing, with a black hat and corn rows that hang down to his shoulders.
