Portland police cite Grant High grad and Detroit Lion Ndamukong Suh for speeding, other traffic violations

, was pulled over and ticketed by Portland police Thursday afternoon.

Suh was driving west on

between Northeast 33rd Avenue and the Lloyd District when he was pulled over by a traffic officer, said Lt. Robert King, a spokesman for the

. He was cited for speeding, improperly signaling and not carrying proof of insurance.

"He was cooperative and cited and released at the scene," King said.

On Dec. 3, the 25-year-old Grant High graduate reportedly lost control of a 1970 Chevrolet coupe while driving south on Southwest 3rd Avenue

and crashed into a curb, light pole, drinking fountain and tree after crossing Burnside Street.

Police said Suh cooperated with the investigation and no citations were issued. He told officers he lost control of the car trying to get around a taxi.

Two women who said they were passengers in the car later contradicted reports that no one was injured, and

Portland police did not reopen their investigation into the crash.

In fall 2009, Suh was ticketed for negligent driving after ramming three parked cars with his SUV Lincoln, Neb., where he attended college. No one was injured, according to the Associated Press, but Suh caused significant damage to the vehicles involved.

He reportedly told police the accident occurred after he swerved to avoid hitting an animal crossing the street. Police said Suh had alcohol in his system, but he tested well below the legal limit.
