That’s not all; a Boss Challenge mode has been added which allows you to take on the giant bosses of Hyrule Warriors.

New costumes for Link, Zelda, and Lana can be unlocked in Boss Challenge mode, while Ganon’s Fury will unlock new costumes for Ganondorf and Cia. Along with the release of the new pack, Version 1.6.0 will feature a raised level cap among other upgrades and a bug fix.

The Boss Pack will be available as a standalone DLC on March 12 for $2.99 on the Nintendo eShop.

Cool New Majora’s Mask 3D US Commercial

Posted on February 2, 2015 by Daisuke909

North America has been waiting for a proper 30 second TV spot for Majora’s Mask 3D, and here it is. A bit cheesy, sure, but it’s still nice to see mainstream acknowledgement for this game, as well as all the new gameplay.

Don’t be misled by the ending which only says that it’s for New Nintendo 3DS, as this game will also work on regular 3DS and 2DS.

Be sure to pick this one up on when it comes out on February 13th, along with the New Nintendo 3DS XL, in North America.

Have you seen this ad on TV? If so, be sure to tell us in the comments!

If you were on the fence about whether the graphical upgrades were a sufficient reason to grab the upcoming 3DS remake of Majora’s Mask, this new video from IGN comparing the two versions side-by-side should put all of your doubts at ease. One look will make clear the mind-boggling extent to which the N64 classic has been enhanced.

What’s particularly surprising is that the graphical upgrades were given not only to models and textures, but also to the character animations, making them appear much more fluid and expressive than in the original.

New Speedrun World Record for The Legend of Zelda

Posted on January 26, 2015 by Daisuke909

For most players, completing the original Legend of Zelda for NES is a major feat, as the game is difficult, cryptic, and long. For speedrunner Darkwing Duck, the challenge was beating the game faster than anyone else ever has, and he makes that look easy.

The record he set was 30:29, blowing away the usual casual times of between 5 and 10 hours. He has refined his playthrough to near perfection, and yet even this world-class play, he says, needs improvement, presenting exciting prospects for the future of Legend of Zelda speedruns.

Nintendo Direct Reveals Lots of New Info

Posted on January 14, 2015 by Daisuke909

Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct today focusing on stuff launching this spring. For those of you who missed it, here’s all the Zelda related stuff they announced.

In the Majora’s Mask 3D department, it’s been revealed that the game will be released on February 13, so mark your calendars! This is to coincide with the release of the New Nintendo 3DS XL in North America on the same day.

It got even better with the reveal of a Majora’s Mask themed limited edition New Nintendo 3DS XL. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come bundled with Majora’s Mask 3D.

Moving on to Hyrule Warriors DLC, it has been announced that the second pack will be themed around Majora’s Mask and feature Tingle and Young Link as playable characters. You read that right. Tingle as a playable character. This will be a must-buy when it comes out on February 5th.

You can view the entire Nintendo Direct here.

What do you think? Will you be picking up that limited edition 3DS XL? Will Tingle be your new main in Hyrule Warriors? Let us know in the comments, and keep the conversation going.

Zeldathon Relief Starts Today!

Posted on December 27, 2014 by Daisuke909

Twice a year, our friends over at zeldathon.net hold a Zelda marathon of titanic proportions, each time raising lots of money for charity. It’s that time of year again, and this time it’ll be Zeldathon Relief, raising money for Direct Relief. They’ve done huge marathons like this many times before, and this one promises to be the biggest yet, with more games than ever! This includes brand new games like Hyrule Warriors, and obscure games like Wand of Gamelon, in addition to the entirety of the main series.

This is going to be the second time that they are employing the “adventure” system, in which each game is unlocked in sequence, each one requiring a certain donation goal to unlock. To get all the way to the grand finale, they will have to raise a knee-weakening $100,000!

All proceeds will go to Direct Relief, a non-profit charity that provides necessary medical resources to people in need due to poverty or emergency situations. If you’re looking for your good deed of the day, any donation, even just $5, is very much appreciated.

Even if you can’t donate, you are encouraged to share it with friends (or enemies), or just watch and have a good time. Check it out over at zeldathon.net. The stream starts today, December 27, at 4 p.m. EST, so be sure to be there.

Harmony of Heroes: Final Smash Announced

A little over two months ago our good friends the Shinesparkers released their improbably massive collaborative tribute to music in the Super Smash Bros. series, Harmony of Heroes. That, by the way, is incredible and totally free to download. Get it from the Harmony of Heroes website here.

Despite this achievement, they still aren’t done, as they have just announced a continuation to Harmony of Heroes called Harmony of Heroes: Final Smash. It’s going to be the same deal, with fan created remixes of many Smash Bros. songs, but this time it will feature many new tracks from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.

This is definitely something to look forward to. Those of you who are fans of Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man, Xenoblade, or Punch Out should be doubly sure to check it out.

Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments below to keep the conversation going!
