Description: 

Women Political Leaders (WPL) is the global network of female politicians. Its mission is to increase the number and influence of women political leaders to achieve men-women parity. WPL is an independent, post-partisan, not-for-profit foundation based in Iceland, the world champion of gender equality. Our Brussels secretariat is very international and constantly working on projects with women leaders around the world.

WPL is looking for a Communications Trainee to work as Project Assistant in our Communications team. The main role is to effectively assist with the successful completion of our various projects.

The responsibilities for the Communications Trainee - Project Assistant can include:

  • Write concept notes, briefings and questions for our events 
  • Write thank you letters, newsletters, and website articles
  • Write captions for social media posts (following WPL writing guidelines) 
  • Email send outs management
  • Support with website updates 
  • Assist on preparation of weekly project management meetings 
  • Support in events organisation
  • Take notes on relevant meetings and events 
  • Write quotes from relevant live events

 

The ideal candidate will have the following profile:

  • A relevant degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science or its equivalent
  • Experience and interest in communications
  • Experience and interest in Social Media
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word);
  • Attention to detail, problem solving, organizational, & analytical skills
  • Interest in visual content production, such as graphic design and video production 
  • Excellent spoken and written English is essential. French, Spanish, Arabic or other major world languages very helpful
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and have good inter-personal skills
  • Experience with SalesForce, Canva, Beepro  or another email management platform is a plus
