Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Welcome, Brett! It looks like you got yourself a nice one.

You mentioned in the totin' today thread that you were surprised by its ergonomics. They sure feel good in hand, don't they? Sturdy and reassuring, without being too bulky. Glad you're liking it.

Very nice Prezzie, Brett!
Your girls treat you well!!;)

Jack, my girls (well my wife from my girls) told me to pick one out for my bday over the weekend. I decided I needed a A. Wright & Son Lambsfoot in buffalo due to you pics.:D

Sorry to be slow replying to your posts Brett, I'm having a bad time internet-wise at the moment, and pics are taking an eternity to load or not loading at all - doesn't make browsing a lot of fun :(

That's a great birthday present from your girls my friend, and I'm glad you got such a beautiful one. Such a great knife to hold in-hand and use! :) I hope you're very happy together :) Welcome to the Guardians! :D

Great photo Jack, I owned once an Ablett Barlow, great knife, I am bit sorry for letting it go.

Thanks Mike, not mine I'm afraid, I was sorting through some postcards today to accompany packages to various forum members, and on finding this one, I thought it had a place here  It'll be around a year since Trevor passed :(

Nice flock Mike  Sad that they are gone now :( The Lockwood Brothers is very much like the TEW, but then those knives were made all over the town by Little Mesters

Really happy to have this Sheffield Lambsfoot as my newest addition. I like everything about this knife. The size and weight immediately represent reliability and longevity. I appreciate the strength of the spring. It is a smooth pull to around the half way point, I'd call it a 6 and it gets stronger at around an 8 continuing to the fully open position. For a knife with no half stop this an outstanding feature. Really like the Lambsfoot blade shape. It is extremely easy to sharpen and the extra large nail nick will allow for decades of reshaping to the same profile. The buffalo horn scales are one of the most attractive options I've seen for an unaltered natural material, really great looking stuff. Having one now I feel foolish for not picking one up a long time ago. Thanks again Greg-

Greg, that is a very beautiful new addition my friend, as is the Lambsfoot you gifted to Stonebeard

Great to read your impressions of your new Lambsfoot Stonebeard, and thanks for posting in this thread, it's good to have you here. Superb-looking knife  As a climber, I'm sure you'll appreciate this photo of George Mallory's Lambsfoot :)

I've enjoyed my buffalo horn A. Wright Lambsfoot so much that I thought it deserved a compatriot to keep it company. I couldn't be happier with this variegated ebony beauty that arrived from Sheffield.

Greg, the wood on that one is beautiful!

Congrats, Brett; the geometric pattern of the light-colored "feathering" of your buffalo horn is entrancing!:thumbup:
