Well, as promised, after waiting the agonizingly long hours until lunch time, I went to my local Post Office, waited for what seemed to be akin to eternity in the lengthy line, and finally picked up my package from Jack. I hurried home so that I could eat a quick lunch and examine the contents of aforementioned package in the comfort of my own abode.
Jack had mentioned that he was including something a bit extra in the package and I was absolutely thrilled to find some good Sheffield memorabilia and not just one, but two knives! A Joseph Rodgers & Sons Postcard with a handwritten note from Jack himself, a Bad Company Beer Mat, a Sheffield pin and keychain, and a couple of old coins.
I was certainly expecting the 2017 Guardians knife but the second was a wonderful surprise. A small lambsfoot with some stunning horn covers. They are translucent and the brass liners makes them practically glow! As some of you are probably aware, I had ordered a horn covered lambsfoot knife some time ago and it turned into a big disappointment. However, both of these knives more than meet the expectations I once had for a quality horn handled knife and my faith and enthusiasm are now restored .
These are beautiful knives, the horn warm and pleasant, the pins flush, the action nice and stout. The ground bolsters on the Guardians knife are beautifully done and just add some wonderful class to this knife. So thrilled was I with these knives that I couldn't decide which one to carry, so I am carrying them both, replacing the two previous occupants of my pockets.
Very nicely done, Jack. Thank you so much for all your efforts and for bringing us such a wonderful product, it is a knife to be treasured for all time and one I hope to pass on to my children and/or grandchildren if I am so blessed. And thank you for the Sheffield care package, I am so very pleased and extremely grateful.
Enough of my ramblings, must have pictures!!! I quickly discovered that Horn is a little harder to photograph, due to its glossy finish, I am not sure that I have captured the true beauty of these knives, but I gave it my best with the time that I had.
I'm glad you got the package Dylan, and that you like the Golden Oxhorn Lambsfoot as well as the Guardians one Great to see them there with you, and I look forward to seeing more of them
Dylan, ....... WOW! Those are AMAZING!
Today's Lambsfoot.
I'm thinking about naming her Betty.
She looks better everytime you show her my friend
