Clinging to this telescope, scanning the horizon,
Stranded in my little boat on the sea of dreams,
Running out of time and hope, searching for an island,
Finding every cruel mirage is never what is seems.
Then I sailed to the edge of the world,
And I saw your face, your wonderful face.
And that's when you called to my Lazarus heart,
Rescued my Lazarus heart,
Called to this Lazarus heart, "Rise again, rise again."
Drifting through this veil of mist, blinding and relentless,
Trying to understand the secret language of my soul,
Forces in me turn and twist, raging like a tempest,
Doubt and fear wash over me like waves that rise and roll.
Then I sailed to the edge of the world,
And I saw your face, your wonderful face.
And that’s when you call to my Lazarus heart,
Rescued my Lazarus heart,
Called to this Lazarus heart, "Rise again, rise again."
Suddenly the bells were ringing everywhere,
And angels filled the air like shooting stars across the sky,
Then I knew forever who you are, and tears of joy fell from my eyes.
Rescued my Lazarus heart, oh,
Called to my Lazarus heart, yeah,
Rescued my Lazarus heart, ooh,
Called to my Lazarus heart.

Everybody was born to love
Everybody was born to love
Broken-down hearts
Empty and dark like a ghost town
We imitate life
And run for the shadows in fear
And only one true flame
Can melt away these chains
The light of our souls
The blood in our veins
Everybody was born to love
Everybody was born to love
Everybody was born to love
Everybody was born to love
Prodigal sons
Wander this land of illusion
High above the crowd
The voice of creation still cries
And love is still alive
It's burning in God's eyes
The reason we live
Our reason to die
Everybody was born to love
Everybody was born to love
Everybody was born to love
Everybody was born to love
Foolish kings that rail against the tide
Too choked up with pride to say,
"We're lonely"
We're lonely, so lonely
Born to love
Everybody was born to love . . .

Everybody's going to the movies
Everybody's leaving for the show
Seems as if we've lost the nerves for feelin’
And no one's in the mood to want to know
I got news for you
This is not a game
I got news for you
Are you listening?
I got news for you
We are all the same
And when that is understood
We can start to live again
Can you look inside and tell me
That your emptiness is just a state of mind
And you'll feel better if you just keep busy
If you leave your feelings all behind?
Oh
I got news for you
This is not a game
I got news for you
Are you listening?
I got news for you
We are all to blame
And when that is understood
We can start to live again
Oh, yes, when that is understood
We can start to live again
Oh, start to live again
People, people, tell me, where have we been?
Ever feel as if your heart is whispering
Like a special voice you never heard before?
And something deep inside your soul is ticking
As if someone was pounding on the door
I got news for you
This is not a game
I got news for you
Are you listening?
I got news for you
We are all the same
I got news for you
This is not a game
I got news for you
We are all to blame
And when that is understood
We can start to live again
Yes, when that is understood
We can start to live again
(He loves you, baby, baby, ooh, la, la)
(He loves you, baby, baby, ooh, la, la)
(He loves you, baby, baby, ooh, la, la)
(He loves you, baby, baby, ooh, la, la)
(He loves you, baby, baby, ooh, la, la)
Yes, when that is understood
We can start to live, start to live again

Standin’ there at the open door.
Not quite sure what you're looking for
Goin’ without knowing what you'll find
It's a road of uncertainty
Where it goes isn't guaranteed
Sometimes this old world can be unkind
But you can't ever leave my love, can't ever leave my love
You can't ever leave my love behind
I'll meet you in the broken places,
In the shadows of your pain
In a sea of strangers' faces
I will find you, stand beside you
Anytime you call my name
When all your dreams are falling down
You're longing just to turn around
And someone you can trust is hard to find
You might think it's been too long
The road that leads back home is gone
But loves a thing that don't keep track of time.
And you can't ever leave my love, can't ever leave my love
You can't ever leave my love behind
I'll meet you in the broken places,
In the shadows of your pain
In a sea of strangers' faces
I will find you, stand beside you
Anytime you call my name
When the world has gone insane
When your ragged from the strain
Call my name . . .
You call my name.
I'll meet you in the broken places,
In the shadows of your pain
In a sea of strangers' faces
I will find you, stand beside you
I will find you, stand beside you
Anytime you call my name
Anytime you call
Just call my name

All alone drifting wild
Like a ship that's lost out on the ocean
Everyone's a homeless child
And it's not hard to understand
Why we need a Father's hand
There's a rainbow somewhere
You were born to be there
You're just running in circles
Till you reach out your hand to the King of Hearts.
Pockets full of pain and fear
That's a load there's just no need to carry
Let it go and leave it here
Now there's no price that's left to pay
With one more mile or one more day
There's a rainbow somewhere
You were born to be there
You're just running in circles
Till you reach out your hand to the King of Hearts.
You can try to catch the wind
But in the end you're only
Wasting precious time
Life can really be so kind
Once you find the truth and follow,
Go on follow, go on follow
All alone drifting wild
Like a ship that's lost out on the ocean
Everyone's a homeless child
And it's not hard to understand
Why we need a Father's hand
There's a rainbow somewhere
You were born to be there
You're just running in circles
Till you reach out your hand
Till you reach out your hand
Till you reach out your hand to the King of Hearts
There's a rainbow somewhere
There's a rainbow somewhere
There's a rainbow somewhere

It was Charlie who taught me to ride on a bike
Charlie who taught me 'bout flyin' a kite
It was Charlie who taught me the beauty of dreams
He'd say, "Life's so much more than it seems”
He looked like a scarecrow so ragged and thin
When he knocked at the farmhouse door
I could tell that my mother was nervous at first
With my father away in the war
He said he was hungry from waking so far,
But a handout never would do
"Now my name is Charlie and for something to eat
I could predict the weather for you”
He talked of the talent with which he was blessed
"It's an odd sort of gift, " he explained
"But the Lord makes the weather and I just observe
And only a fool could complain"
As nighttime was falling we asked him to stay
And he camped by the sycamore trees
My mother asked "What will you do if it rains?"
Charlie smiled and said, "Just leave the weather to me”
In the wandering breeze I can hear again
The song that Charlie the Weatherman sang,
“Sweet breath of God blow he clouds away
Till I walk in the light of that endless spring day”
Now Charlie stayed with us as days turned to weeks
It seemed that somehow he belonged
And I'd always tease him when he’d watch the sky
But his forecasts never were wrong
And Charlie would tell me a story each night
From the tattered old Bible he read
"Winter or Summer, Springtime or Fall
It's the weather inside us that matters" he said
In the wandering breeze I can hear again
The song that Charlie the Weatherman sang,
“Sweet breath of God blow he clouds away
Till I walk in the light of that endless spring day”
One morning at breakfast he seemed a bit sad
With a far-away look in his eyes, "Storms rollin' in"
That was all he said but there wasn't a cloud in the sky
The last time I saw him he waved his old hat
As he stood at the of the hill
He left me his Bible and in it he wrote
"Keep your eyes on the sky,” and I always will
And it rained and rained like the tears I cried
On the day that Charlie the Weatherman died
And the wind has carried his heart away
Past the silver-lined clouds to that endless Spring day

She was told when she was young
Ah, that blondes always have more fun
Lie lie lie, dirty lie du du dumb
Perfect hair perfect waste
With a perfect prom queen smile upon her face
For everyone
But it's all right, it's okay
Now your self-respect is the only price you'll pay
It's okay, that's all right
You're the queen of the Barbie nation
Queen of the Barbie nation
Queen of the Barbie nation tonight
Tonight, yeah
Romance books, magazines
TV shows and the movie screens
They lie lie lie, dirty lies empty dreams
It's a shame you bowed down
To the deity of Helen Gurley Brown
So obscene
It's all right, it's okay
Just don't forget you're always on display
It's okay, that's alright
You're the queen of the Barbie nation
Queen of the Barbie nation
Queen of the Barbie nation tonight
You're sexy and driven and doomed to succeed
You'll get what you want but it's nothing you need
And echoed in the heartache you conceal
Is something good, something real
She was told that in the end
Every Barbie gets her Ken
Lie lie lie, no such guy, just pretend
We pull the strings, wind the doll
We create the myth that she can have it all
It's a sin
But it's all right, it's okay
Though your dignity is all that's left to trade
It's okay, that's all right
You're the queen of the Barbie nation
Queen of the Barbie nation
Queen of the Barbie nation tonight
Queen of the Barbie nation . . .

Kevin Max - Lung Cancer
03:47
|

She went down to the corner store
And bought a pack of filter kings
Don't you know tomorrow she'll be back for more
'Cause she really loves to smoke those things
And every time that she inhales
A cloud of that cigarette smoke
She's just one step closer to the man in black
And sixty cents closer to broke
She's been working on
Lung cancer, emphysema, a cardiac arrest
And she'll probably have a stroke when see sees
The x-rays of her chest
When she had her first cigarette
A puff or two was all she could take
Now if she doesn't have one in her hand all the time
You’ll notice it begin to shake (shake baby)
Even though she's nonchalant
And acts as if her habit's a joke (ah, hahaha)
She won't do too much laughing when
Her life goes up in smoke
She's been smoking that C-I-G-A-R-E-T-T-E
That cigarette's got her on her knees
C-I-G-A-R-E-T-T-E
That darn tobacco won't set her free
Alright, suck, baby, suck
Suck on that cigarette
Go on and light up that stuff and take a puff
It's bound to snuff you yet
She went down to the corner store
And bought a pack of filter kings
Don't you know tomorrow she'll be back for more
'Cause she really loves to smoke those things
And every time that she inhales
A cloud of that cigarette smoke
She's just one step closer to the man in black
And sixty cents closer to broke
She's been working on
Lung cancer, emphysema, a cardiac arrest
And she'll probably have a stroke when see sees
The x-rays of her chest
Now, she’s been smoking that C-I-G-A-R-E-T-T-E
That cigarette just won’t let her be
C-I-G-A-R-E-T-T-E
That cigarette's got her on her knees
C-I-G-A-R-E-T-T-E
C-I-G-A-R-E-T-T-E

Like a dreamer who was trying to build a highway to the sky
All my hopes would come tumbling down and I never knew just why
Until today, when you pulled away the clouds that hung like curtains on my eyes
I've been blind all those wasted years and I thought I was so wise
Then you took me by surprise
Like waking up from the longest dream
How real it seemed
Until Your love broke through
I was lost in a fantasy that blinded me
Until Your love broke through
All my life I've been searching for that crazy missing part
With one touch, You just rolled away the stone that held my heart
And now I see the answer was as simple as my need to let love in
From now on, I will never doubt that magic touch again
It's like the power of the wind
Like waking up from the longest dream
How real it seemed
Until Your love broke through
I was lost in a fantasy that blinded me
Until Your love broke through
There is nothing in the whole wide world that means this much to me
In Your love, I have found the truth and truth has set me free
Now I’m feelin’ like a barefoot child dancin’ in the sun
Unafraid, I can face each day because of all You’ve done
And my life has just begun
Like waking up from the longest dream
How real it seemed
Until Your love broke through
I was lost in a fantasy that blinded me
Until Your love broke through
Your love broke through and keeps shinin’ down on me . . .

Amy Grant - Old Clothes
04:02
|

Toys from my childhood
Old photographs
Left in this dusty old suitcase
The things we once cherished
Are lost with the past
Seek out the treasure that always will last
So i'm packing up my old clothes
With my old and foolish ways
They just don't seem to fit me any more
I see the light of morning
With different eyes today
And i'm giving my tomorrows to the Lord
So many heroes
That never came through
Too many roads going nowhere
And Jesus was whispering
"I still love you"
And with a love that makes all things new
So, I'm packing up my old clothes
With my old and foolish ways
They just don't seem to fit me any more
I see the light of morning
With different eyes today
And i'm giving my tomorrows to the Lord
I'm packing up my old clothes
With my old and foolish ways
They just don't seem to fit me any more
I see the light of morning
With different eyes today
And I'm giving my tomorrows to the Lord
Yes, I'm giving my tomorrows to the Lord

Heaven help me, Spirit and the flesh,
A lonely star that's falling,
Lord, you found me, still I lose myself with all these voices calling, calling,
But I long to dream your dream: the special one you've kept for me,
How I long to live my destiny.
No matter what I say or do, remember, remember,
No matter how I run from you, remember my name.
Won't you remember?
I'm shadow boxing the phantom of my will,
I'm frightened by its turning, oh, oh, yeah,
And wild horses thunder through my heart,
A thousand passions burning, burning,
Still I long to dream your dream: the special one you've kept for me,
Won't you touch my eyes, let me see?
No matter what I say or do, remember, remember,
No matter how I run from you, remember my name.
Let the wind of Heaven blow,
Let it cut right through my soul,
Make me clean, make me whole.
Well, no matter what I say or do, remember, remember,
No matter how I run from you, remember my name.
Tell me my you remember, remember,
No matter how I run from you, remember my name,
Oh, tell me you remember, remember,
Oh yeah, tell me you remember my name,
Oh Lord, tell me you remember.
Just remember, remember my name,
Yeah, remember my name.

Mr. Little in his paper boat
Sails the painted sea
Velvet curtains rise on cellophane skies
And the tiny town scenery
And the mayor and the duchess dance
To the music box serenade
While angels glide down the starlight promenade
The tinsel rain ends a seaside holiday
And the patrons smile, knowing life can be that way
Welcome to the Wonderama
Come inside
Welcome to the Wonderama
Keep your eyes open wide
It's never far from view
Hello, welcome to the Wonderama
In the spotlight is a silhouette
Of a dragon breathing fire
And the battle begins as the soldiers of tin
Brave the great high wire
By the morning all the world is saved
Through a noble sacrifice
They were all amazed
When the King laid down His life
The sweethearts kiss on their springtime wedding day
And the patrons sigh knowing love can be that way
Welcome to the Wonderama
Come inside
Welcome to the Wonderama
Keep your eyes open wide
It's never far from view
Hello, welcome to the Wonderama
Welcome to the Wonderama
Welcome to the Wonderama
Hello
Now the pauper and the millionaire
The servants and the queen
Each have their role in the miracle show
Till they play the final scene
Mr. Little in his paper boat
Waves a last farewell
And another child climbs upon the carrousel
The church bells ring when the old folks pass away
Though the patrons cry they know tears will end some day
Welcome to the Wonderama
Come inside
Welcome to the Wonderama
Keep your eyes open wide
It's never far from view
Oh, hello, welcome to the Wonderama

Keep me runnin' from the shadow of my lies
Like a gypsy who is never satisfied
Once you compromise your soul
You spend a lifetime dodging the devil's toll
Keep me runnin'
Keep me coverin' up my tracks
Keep me runnin' so i'm always looking back
Always restless in my dreams
And trouble's never too far behind it seems
Keep me runnin'
Keep me movin'
Keep me always on the go
Keep me makin' sure my footprints never show
Keep me runnin'
Keep me movin'
Keep me numb from head to toe
Keep me hiding where my past will never go
Keep me runnin' from the sins i can't erase
Like an outlaw with a mask to hide his face
Once i was told that love could fly
Yeah, but it's been so long that i just don't remember why
Keep me runnin'
Keep me movin'
Keep me always on the go
Keep me makin' sure my footprints never show
Keep me runnin'
Keep me movin'
Keep me numb from head to toe
Keep me hiding where my past will never go
Keep me runnin'
Keep me runnin'
Keep me runnin’ . . .

Oh, how much more could any man desire
Than to know why he draws his every breath?
Oh, how much more could any soul require
Than that the Lord is near him at his death?
Do not forget love's greatest story
God knows the tears you have cried
Just set your sights upon the hope of glory
It was for this that Jesus died
For every mile of rocky road you climb
There is a jewel added to your crown
And for every doubt that drags you down sometimes
There is an answer that will be found
Do not forget love's greatest story
God knows the tears you have cried
Just set your sights upon the hope of glory
It was for this that Jesus died
Carry on, my family of the light
All those who march unto a different drum
And know that truth will guide you through the night
Until we rest in Kingdom Come.
Do not forget love's greatest story
God knows the tears you have cried
Just set your sights upon the hope of glory
It was for this that Jesus died
Set your sights upon the hope of glory
It was for this that Jesus died,
It was for this that Jesus died.

Distant voices draw you on to the glow of the evensong,
Call you back where you belong,
A prayer for you, a gift for you,
Leave your burdens and your cares,
By the fire there's an empty chair, and old friends are waiting there,
Just for you, a gift for you.
Tonight, dark night without a star to guide you,
Sweet child, lost child, come home,
We will watch, we will pray,
Love will light your way gently, like a lantern in the snow.
A dreamer's song whispered in your ear,
And you searched through the restless years for the prize that was always here,
Just for you, a gift for you,
Through the wintry veil you cried,
Let your memory be your guide to the peace and the warmth inside,
Just for you, a gift for you.
Tonight, dark night without a star to guide you,
Sweet child, lost child, come home,
We will watch, we will pray,
Love will light your way gently, like a lantern in the snow.
Tonight, dark night without a star to guide you,
Sweet child, lost child, come home,
We will watch, we will pray,
Love will light your way gently, like a lantern in the snow.
Tonight.

The last time I saw Eden, the garden was in flames. The smoke was rising up to heaven’s floor. The last time I saw Eden, the gates were bound with chains. The angel cried, “You'll enter here no more."
And I just can't get it out of my mind. That vision still sends chills up my spine like a ghost that I can never leave behind, the last time I saw Eden.
The last time I saw Eden, I was waiting to be born, floating in a sea of purest light. When I heard the thunder there was dust upon my lips. My flesh was stinging with the chill of night.
And they tell me it was all a crazy dream, but in my heart I don't know what they mean. I can't forget how very real it seemed, the last time I saw Eden.
The last time I saw Eden, I was standing in the rain—down a lonesome, broken railroad track. I met a fallen angel, waiting for a northbound train. He said, "I fear it's never coming back."
And now, even in these crowds, I feel alone—an orphan always aching for home. I'm longing for the mystery I have known, the last time I saw Eden.

Steve Taylor - Fire
04:15
|
|||
Fire, holy flame, walk with me, walk with me,
Fire, holy flame, take my heart and burn away this darkness in your fire.
I did not know that I was blind until I looked into your eyes,
I did not know that I was lost until you found me,
I did not know I was a fool until I heard the words you speak,
They are Spirit, they are life, they are...
Fire, holy flame, walk with me, walk with me,
Fire, holy flame, take my hand, and I will follow you into your fire.
I did not know my savage thirst until you lead me to your well,
I did not know I lived in chains until you freed me,
I did not know I was afraid until you gave your perfect love,
Love that casts out all my fear.
Fire, holy flame, walk with me, walk with me, yeah,
Fire, holy flame, take my soul, that I may dwell forever in your fire.
And when I feel the flame within this burning, white-hot light of truth, my body trembles 'til I fear my flesh will leave my bones,
My soul is filled with mourning such as I have never known,
A piercing, aching sorrow, heavy as a grave stone,
And I cry out, "I am ruined, oh, I am undone,"
Then, like Isaiah, you bring burning coals to touch my tongue, cleansing me from my iniquity,
Under the shadow of your cross, you shelter me,
You shelter me...
In your fire, holy flame, walk with me, walk with me,
Oh, fire, holy flame, take my hand, take my heart, take my soul,
Fire, holy flame, walk with me, take my hand and walk with me, walk with me.
I will follow you,
And I will follow you,
I will follow you.

I've been waiting for a long, long time
Hoping You're a friend of mine
If there's one thing that I need to do
Well, that's to find out more about You
I have been wandering all of my days
So if You're there, show me the way
I see people in a world of lies
Staring out their lonely eyes
Watching as the years go by
Knowing they're living only to die
There must be something missing somewhere
So if You're listening, answer this prayer
I will follow if You lead me
Help me make a stand
If You breathe new breath inside me
I’ll believe You can
I’ll believe You can
Well, I never really learned to pray
But You know what I'm trying to say
I don't want my life to end
Not ever knowing why it began
So if you'll trust me, I'll do my best
And I'll be trusting you for the rest

Rachel Delevoryas
With her thick eye glasses and her plain-Jane face
Sat beside me in my fifth grade class
Looking so terribly out of place
Rachel played the violin
And classical music was out of style
She couldn't control all her wild brown hair
Her nervous laughter and her awkward smile and
It was clear that she'd never be one of us
With her dowdy clothes
And her violin
And a name like Rachel Delevoryas
But I'd pass by her house in the evening
Going to play with my best friend Ray
And the music floating from her window
Spoke the things that Rachel could never say
Rachel Delevoryas
Was eating her lunch as the boys walked by
"Rachel is ugly!” she heard them shout
She sat on the schoolyard bench and cried and
It was clear that she'd never be one of us
With her dowdy clothes
And her violin
And a name like Rachel Delevoryas
And every year the hedge got higher
As it grew around Rachel's house
Like the secret wall inside her
That she built to keep all the heartache out
Rachel Delevoryas
Moved back east with her family
Now she's dressed in a beautiful gown
Standing on stage with the symphony
Rachel plays the violin
But every night when the lights go down
I wonder if she still remembers those days
And cruel little boys in this one-horse town and
It was clear that she'd never be one of us
With her dowdy clothes
And her violin
And a name like Rachel Delevoryas
A name like Rachel Delevoryas

That's why, that’s why we don't love God
Although our lips feign praise, still our hearts are far away
That's why, that’s why we don't love God
We're so consumed with self we can't love anybody else
No, no
We mask the nakedness of our mortality,
Cloaked in this poison pride and the illusion of control
We need the gift of grace more than the air we breath
But as it draws us near, still it repels our stubborn souls.
That's why, that’s why we don't love God,
Oh yes, our lips feign praise, but our hearts are far away
That's why, that's why we don't love God
I don't want my prayers to be some meaningless litany
Yeah
Why are we so afraid, guarded and counterfeit?
Is it because we know all the shadows we conceal?
And we are so alone—wolves in the winter snow
Never imagining that this mercy could be real
That's why, that’s why we don't love God
Although our lips feign praise, still our hearts are far away
That's why, that’s why we don't love God
We're so consumed with self we can't love anybody else
Yeah
Oh
We say, "We need a little help; we need some new direction,"
Yeah, avoid the blessing like a curse,
We're only lying to ourselves—what we need is resurrection
What we need is second birth
That's why, that’s why we don't love,
That's why, that’s why we don't love,
That's why, that’s why we don't love,
That's why, that’s why we don't love God
Oh, no
We don't love God

We are hungry and we are haunted
We are groping in the night
We are wrestling with our pain
We are losing the fight
We are liars and we are dreamers
We're the guilty ones to blame
And we're living out this nightmare
Between the glory and the flame
We are pilgrims and we are strangers
We are names without a face
We are stranded on this crumbling rock
Dangling in space
We are heroes and we are villains
We are lost within our shame
And we're banished to this twilight
Between the glory and the flame
We are outlaws and we are wounded
With our backs against the wall
We are standing at the crossroads
With the axe about to fall
We are madmen and we are children
With a lesson to be learned
We are sitting in the ashes
Of the bridges we have burned
We are hoping and we are praying
We are holding to the claim
That He's coming back to meet us
Between the glory and the flame

I can't keep from mourning for this topsy-turvy world
With all its strife and pain
Mourning for the lost and the desperate children
Who can't remember their names
And I can feel it in my soul
Now the end is getting near
I can hear the devil laughing
And its ringing in my ears
Long ago He chose us to inherit all His Kingdom
And we were blessed with light
But wandering away we disobeyed Him in the Garden
And stumbled into night
And I can feel it in my soul
Now the end is getting near
I can hear the angels weeping
And it's ringing in my ears
We are all like foolish puppets who, desiring to be kings
Now lie pitifully crippled after cutting our own strings
But God said I'll forgive you
I will face you man to man
And win your love again
Oh how could there be possibly
A greater gift of love
Than dying for a friend
And I can feel it in my soul
Now the end is getting near
I can hear the devil laughing
And its ringing in my ears
We are all like foolish puppets who, desiring to be kings
Now lie pitifully crippled after cutting our own strings
Cutting our own strings . . .

We can be together for now and forever
I love you
I love you
And when I'm prayin'
I hear Him sayin'
I love you
I love you
People all over the world
They're opening up
They're comin' alive
They're sayin'...
I love you, I love you, I love you
I love you, I love you, I love you
(Repeat)
Brother & sister, Mrs. & Mr.
I love you
I love you
He made me feel it, and I can't conceal it
I love you
I love you
Jesus came into the world to show us the way
To set us all free, and when He died he was sayin'
I love you, I love you, I love you
I love you, I love you, I love you
(Repeat)
We can be together for now and forever
I love you
I love you
Brother and sister, Mrs. and Mr.
I love you
I love you
I love you, I love you, I love you
I love you, I love you, I love you
