CHANDIGARH, Punjab—On April 2, the mortal remains of former Hazoori Raagi Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa were cremated at 07:15 pm in a land situated on Verka-Fatehgarh Shukarchakk road. The police and district administration had made tight security arrangements on this place.
It is noteworthy here that the Verka villagers didn’t allow the administration to cremate Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa’s mortal remains in village crematorium. A Congress affiliated Municipal Councillor named Harpal Verka is learnt have instigated villagers by misguiding them and forcing the crematorium authorities to lock doors.
Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa had passed away during the wee hours of April 2 after being found positive for coronavirus on April 1.
