hehe, an interview?...... yeah.... and I'm George Michaels dildo

I feel a little for him - but if he is serious about learning to
programme, then maybe first step is learning how to be a responsible
member of the usent community - ie not spamming ang being open about
his "reviews"

This "interview" concluded that they wished him well - I don't wish
any spammer well at all !

If he is 14, then I think he deserves a little slack. My own son is 13 and
he's just starting to understand the Internet. I doubt he would understand
the concept of "Netiquette" -- some of which I disregard myself. And how
many 14-year-olds have the intelligence and ambition to teach themselves
programming?

HOWEVER. . .

By now, he should have come to understand what's expected of him and I would
hope he takes the advice of this n.g. to heart. Otherwise, he'll "cash in"
whatever good will members of this n.g. have cut him in deferrance to his
age.

A.A. take note. . .

#1 I don't believe he is 14...... at all
#2 I don't believe the interview was conducted by someone other than him
#3 I don't believe he has intelligence
#4 I don't believe he would understand the concept of "netiquette" if it bit
him on the behind.

I don't understand why this "Fussy" character doesn't participate in threads
such as these. He would be doing himself a big favour if he took a few
moments out from his hectic software development activities to address the
concerns of those who have yet to plonk him. His somewhat vacant responses
in other threads may actually answer my question, though- he seems to be
even more overwhelmed by language itself than he is by programming language.

I don't know whether he's fourteen or not. I do know that before he
graced a.c.f with his presence he successfully alienated a large
proportion of the alternate shell community with his tiresome
self-promotion.

His efforts - I hesitate to call them programs - appear to be little
more than the result of carrying out elementary programming examples.
He is surely as capable as any of us of comparing one program with
another - even just visually, yet he compared his graphics program
with Paint Shop Pro!

His entertainment value grows thin very rapidly. I don't know what he
is - the most likely explanation is that he is a grown-up troll (if
they ever do grow up) who has put a lot of effort into his persona.

How many 14 yr olds understand the difference between truth and lies ?
- quite a few I would hope !

Man, you're a hard guy Steve. Where's your conscience? You'll have children
some day and will understand.

Fussy reminds me very much of my son when he was 14 and first started
coding. He would hammer incessantly on me for coding help, and drove me up
the wall. I sent him to the web and to IRC for help, and they acted like a
bunch of jerks. It was appalling how cruelly grown men could treat an un
socialized 14 year old who was only trying to learn.

I'll be no party to torturing a 14 a year old boy. If you have no patience
with him, why not simply ignore him and leave it to those who do? (frankly,
I don't have much patience left either, so I won't be much help to Fussy).

The Teknidermy interview was conducted by one of their staff members.

After reading some of the stuff on the net, and after reading the above
mentioned interview, I can only come to one conclusion. A.A.Fussy is a
handicapped student at around the 10th grade level of his education. Most
likely he is in the early stages of Schizophrenia, and most of what you see
is the result of his delusions. Schizophrenics are often times very
intelligent and most definitely are not stupid, but they are ill. He does
not have the ability to distinguish between what is happening in his mind
and what is happening in the real world. Most often the case is that they
have delusions of being a hero, or delusions of being able to do fantastic
things. He simply believes that his programs are capable of doing much more
then they can, but the trick is that in his mind they do, and there is no
way for anyone to convince him that what he sees and experiences is not the
same reality for everyone else. He may become better at programming as time
goes on, and most likely his illness will get worse as well. The one thing
that Schizophrenics can not tolerate well is criticism. Highly critical
comments will actually make him more ill over time, and at some point a
negative comment, that he takes personally, will break him and send him on a
very bad trip. Unfortunately, he probably will not be properly diagnosed
with Schizophrenia until he has a very bad episode. So, let's not do
anything to hasten his illness, and lets all pray that no one gets
physically hurt when he has a bad break-down in the future. Also, pray that
he falls into the right hands that can get him proper help, because
medication (when effective) can actually slow down the devastation of this
little understood illness. My $.02 on the subject.

Purportedly an interview with our hero, A.A. Fussy aka Anthony Sullivan.

Who really cares... If you don't like him them plonk him, or filter him
out. Don't go and stir up a heap of posts about nothing (even though I've
just added too it).

JB

Oh yeah, what the hell is wrong with being an Australian anyway........
