[W]ith over 90 young professionals attending and £1,300 raised for Jigsaw Children’s Hospice, Carlisle has proved itself to have a vibrant young professional community.
Aiming to debunk the traditional networking event, Carlisle Futures – whose latest event was sponsored by Baines Wilson and The Cumberland – aims to create a unique platform for peers to network.
The event, which took place on 17th May, raised £1,300 for local charity Jigsaw Children’s Hospice. Jigsaw provides one to one care for children and young adults with life limiting illnesses.
Natalie Bingham, Corporate Fundraiser at Jigsaw, said “The Carlisle Futures event was brilliant evening of fundraising and we would like to thank everybody who attended and helped organise the event. It was great to see so many professionals from different companies coming together to raise a brilliant amount of money in aid of Jigsaw. The money raised will help us to make a difference to children and young adults from across Cumbria.”
Although predominantly an opportunity for young people to build on professional relationships, Carlisle Futures also offers a platform from which to showcase the excellent opportunities that are on offer. Joanne Holborn, Partner and Head of Employment, Baines Wilson explains: “With many of our lawyers coming to us from leading city firms we can offer the same career prospects as some of the best business law firms in the UK. So we want to let the next generation know that they can realise their professional ambitions with that is on their doorstep.”
