SGPC Reserves 300 Beds and 10 Ventilators for COVID-19 Patients in Amritsar

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—As SGPC is continuing to provide free food and shelter to the needy people of Punjab and India, it has also announced that Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College and Hospital is dedicating a special area to treat patients with COVID-19 symptoms.

It’s important to mention that the SGPC had been serving free food across villages of Punjab. As Gurdwaras are encouraging people to stay at home, langars have been kept open and special buses have been arranged to deliver food from over 100 Gurdwaras to the homes to the needy people.

SGPC president Bhai Gobind Singh Longowal told Sikh24 that 300 beds and 10 ventilators have been reserved for coronavirus patients in the Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College and Hospital. This hospital runs under the management of the SGPC.

Along with this, arrangement for isolation has also been done at the rest houses operated by the SGPC.

Bhai Longowal further said that langar services are being provided to the needy people at a mass scale. More than 300,000 homes from Majha, Malwa and Doaba zone are getting food from the historical gurdwaras which are operated by the SGPC.
