Is your heat exchanger fit for duty?
NEW REPORT: Minimise risks to downtime, production, or financial losses from you PHEs
Low energy efficiency, higher carbon emissions, danger to staff, low production yields, and poor product quality – these are some of the catastrophic and complex consequences businesses could face if proper servicing and maintenance of plate heat exchangers (PHEs) is overlooked.
Fit For Duty is a new report outlining why ‘run to fail’ is a false economy as well as the steps that can be taken to improve production yields and efficiency.
The report shows that PHEs are subject to an industry-wide misconception that they are ‘simple’ components. Fouling, corrosion or leakage are common issues with plate heat exchangers. This could be from poor or infrequent maintenance, clogged, cracked or damaged plates, or poorly sealed units. Because of this, many plate heat exchangers would be classed as ‘unfit for duty’ across UK industry.
