King Conservation District Regional Food System Program Farmer Direct-Marketing Survey

What is the goal of this survey? This survey seeks to improve understanding of the current farm economy and direct marketing practices of King County farmers and producers, and to identify opportunities for supporting and growing direct marketing efforts.
Who is this survey from? This survey is a part of the Direct Marketing Strategic Initiative funded through King Conservation District’s Regional Food System Program and in support of King County’s Local Food Initiative. The Direct Marketing Strategic Initiative is in response to stakeholder feedback identifying direct marketing support for King County farmers as a key area of interest and investment for the Regional Food System Program. This survey was developed in collaboration with the University of Washington, King County, King Conservation District, and the City of Seattle Office of Sustainability and the Environment.
Who should take this survey? If you own, operate, manage, or run a farm business in King County, we want to hear from you! While this survey is a deep-dive into better understanding direct marketing, we want to hear from you regardless of whether or not you currently sell in direct-market outlets. Your responses will help us better understand farm businesses that do and don’t sell in direct markets
How will results be used? The results of the surveywill be used to identify tools, resources, and technical assistanceto support a vibrant direct-market farm economy in King County.
