Story
So you probably know that I like karting. A lot. I like rock music too. Luckily enough, Midland Karting in association with Kerrang Radio have organised a charity endurance karting event which I thought would be pretty fun to enter.
What you might also know is that I can be a bit of a selfish bugger and what better way to manifest that than by entering a team into the race, then doing ALL of the driving myself. Awesome.
Oh, wait, there's TWO races? Better still! So basically, I'm going to be driving a go-kart for about four and a half hours which I'm rather looking forward to but will probably find is more difficult than I realise.
The best bit (*) is that it's for charity too, so we can all help the childrens!!
It'd be super-cool if you could sponsor me, even just a little bit. If I don't die of exhaustion, fulfilling my sponsor obligations will help me get through those last few laps see! I've set a nominal target of £255, which is a quid for each minute I'll be on-track.
By the way - the event itself should be pretty cool - aside from the karting, Kerrang have put a load of bands on to play at the venue during the day. Why not come along and laugh at me while I start flagging about 60 minutes into the 4 hours? :-) Details here: http://www.midlandkarting.co.uk/cashforkidscharityevent.php
Oh yeah last thing - the charities involved are The Children's Society and Cash For Kids and this campaign is specifically raising awareness and funds for runaway children.
(* actually the best bit will probably the driving.. but the charity bit is still a Good Thing).
