Full I-95 Closure, Detour Over 4 Nights in Delaware for Bridge Work

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces the third stage of bridge girder installation for the new southbound I-95 to southbound Route 896 flyover ramp is anticipated to start on February 13, 2024 (weather permitting).

This stage requires overnight FULL CLOSURE of northbound and southbound I-95 and the southbound I-95 off ramp to southbound Route 896 over 4 nights – tentatively scheduled for February 13, February 14, February 15 and February 19.

In order to avoid delays on the detour routes through Newark, southbound I-95 motorists are encouraged to use Route 1 to US 40 to access southbound Route 896 and Route 273 to Route 4 to continue to the southbound I-95 detour.

Detailed information regarding the timing of the lane and ramp closures will be issued once the dates are confirmed.
