Three different computers (and a VM), all of my USB ports, four USB cables.
I started off with a US998 converted H931, and flashed Nougat to it. Booted in, everything worked fine. I did a master reset and flashed Oreo 20a, booted in, everything is fine. Verified I had a Pre-July 2018 security patch and was on 20a, and supposedly I was all set to flash the unlock.
I tried it on my Windows 10 desktop first with no luck. Here's what happened:
That's it. It didn't give me a message or anything after. Didn't report a max download size, and it would do this every time with every cable and every port. I downloaded a different verson of adb and it would do the same thing. I installed the drivers like recommended, and still didn't work. So I busted out my Windows 10 laptop, and here's what I got:
Different failure, same deal. Wouldn't flash no matter the port or cable or driver. Tried a master reset, no luck. I asked my roommate to borrow his Windows 10 laptop, and while adb detected my device (was not offline or unauthorized), it wouldn't even attempt to send the .bin. All I would get was < waiting on any device >. I tried a FWUL VM on my laptop, and still got < waiting on any device >. I'm kinda out of options here, and don't know how to proceed next.
Here's my proof that I had done everything right thus far:
Yes, your screenshots show you are on the correct pre-July 2018 firmware which is needed.
I assume you tried all the Section 7 Troubleshooting Tips? Even the different drivers (Google driver, Windows driver) mentioned to install, different ADB installations?
Try yet another computer? (I know you have tried 3.) Like an old Windows 7? Part of the problem some people have is newer USB 3.0 ports vs USB 2.0 ports. Older computers have the USB 2.0 ports, and those seems to work better. Yes, people have done it with Windows 10 and USB 3.0 ports, but that's where some people have problems.
