People Are Still Lining Up For The iPad 2 Nearly Three Weeks Since Its Debut

March 30, 2011
Nearly three weeks after the iPad 2 debuted in the United States, you will still find lines of would-be buyers outside of Apple Retail Stores across the country. Because of this, Wall Street analyst Charlie Wolf of Needham & Company has revised his iPad sales estimates for 2011 from 20 to 30 million units, according to TUAW. Online orders for the second-generation tablet also indicate long wait times. The iPad 2 is now being sold in 26 countries, but that doesn’t mean there are any available. Drive by any Apple Retail Store early in the morning, and you’ll get a sense that demand for the iDevice continues to outpace its supply. The situation online tells the same story. In the U.S., Apple is reporting a “3 to 4 weeks” shipping delay for the iPad 2. The story is the same in Australia, Canada, and in the UK. For our U.S. customers, be sure to check out our Real Time Inventory Tracker to see where you can purchase an iPad 2.
