UK: Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara Supports Local Community in Response to COVID-19

SLOUGH, UK—In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trustees and Volunteers at Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara (Slough, UK) have continued to support the local community.

As part of its efforts, the institution has offered an entire four-acre site to the United Kingdom National Health Service (NHS) as a temporary hospital. The Gurdwara management further stated that it’s volunteers are available to help the NHS with duties and activities without any cost.

Gurdwara Sahib’s trustee Savraj Singh said that the Gurdwara’s facilities are well suited to build a temporary hospital. The Gurdwara is equipped with a large kitchen, parking facilities and is able to serve thoughts of meals daily.

For now, the Gurdwara has been informed that space is not required for a temporary hospital. In the interim, the Gurdwara Sahib management is continuing to serve the needy through free meals.

The Gurdwara will continue to supply free meals daily to those in need, in partnership with Children Services and Age Concern Berkshire. Free meals are delivered by the Gurdwara’s mobile food service to anyone aged 65+, NHS staff, or anyone in coronavirus isolation.
