Medway Public Library releases February youth events list

MEDWAY — The Medway Public Library, 26 High St., released upcoming events for youths.

The library is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The lower level community space is open until 9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday for meetings and computer use.

Toddler Jam

Every Tuesday and Wednesday at 11 a.m. Newborns to 3 year-olds are invited to this drop-in program of stories, fingerplay and songs accompanied by mountain dulcimer. Children must be accompanied by parent or caregiver. Due to the holidays, there will be no Toddler Jam on Dec. 23 or Dec. 30.

Story Time

Every Thursday and Friday at 11 a.m. Ages 10 months to 5 years.  A drop-in story time with songs, stories and craft. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver. These ages are flexible. If you think your children will enjoy story time, bring them. Due to the holidays, there will be no Story Time on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1.

Groundhog Day Drop-in Craft

Feb. 2 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. For ages 4 and older, and registration is not required.

PAWS to Read

Feb. 3 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Sign up by calling 508-533-3217 or come in and talk to staff at the Circulation desk to register. Each child will get a 15 minute one-on-one reading session with a visiting therapy dog.  Children must be able to read independently as this is not a tutoring session but rather an opportunity to practice reading skills with a good listener. For grades 2-6.

Winter PJ Story Time

Feb. 9 at 6:45 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to wear pajamas to a calm night of stories and a hibernation craft. All ages. Registration preferred.

Book Buffet

Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. The Book Buffet is back. Make your reservation today. Those interested are invited to join the library’s restaurant themed book review where the menu has something for everyone. For grades 1-8. Registration is preferred.

Hands-on Art History

Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. For ages 7 and older. Register in advance.

Snap Circuits Discovery Day

Feb. 18, from 10:30 a.m. to :30 p.m. For grades 2 and older.

PAWS to Read 4th Anniversary Party

Feb. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Young readers and their adults are invited to join us in celebrating four years of the PAWS to Read program. The library will have a few sessions available for first time readers. Registration is required for reading sessions, but no need to register if you want to come pet your favorite dog and thank the team.

Elementary Book Club

Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. Those interested should pick up a copy of the book at the Circulation Desk. Register in advance. This month’s book is “The Big Bad Detective Agency” by Bruce Hale. Best for grades 2-5.

Wild Readers: Teen Book Club

Feb. 22 at 6:45 p.m. Help Lucy find a day and time that fits you and your friends! Share your favorite book and the group talk about which titles or genres you would like to see as book club choices. Snacks will be provided. For grades 8 and older. Register in advance or just show up.

National Read Aloud Day

Wednesday, Feb. 24. Details to come.

LEGO Club

Feb. 24 from 4 to 5 p.m. Grades 1 and older. Register in advance. Sponsored by Friends of the Medway Library.

Tales of Enchantment- Storyteller Diane Edgecomb

Feb. 25 at 3:30 p.m. For ages 5 and older. Register in advance.

Leap Day Party

Feb. 29 at 3:45 p.m. For all ages. Register in advance.
