BBC World Cup coverage kicks off

The World Cup final on Sunday between the Netherlands and Spain will be on BBC One and BBC HD (kick-off 1930 BST, coverage starts 1830 BST), with live video on the BBC Sport website for UK users and match commentary on BBC Radio 5 live.

Video highlights will be available during the game on this website (UK only and a full replay will be screened on BBC Three at 0020 BST and on BBC iPlayer for seven days after the game.

Viewers with BBC Red Button will have access to interactive options during the game, including rolling highlights.

Saturday's third/fourth place play-off between Uruguay and Germany will be shown on ITV and STV, as well those broadcasters' websites, with highlights on BBC One at 2320 BST.

Match of the Day presenter and former England captain Gary Lineker leads the BBC TV team. He will present coverage of matches live from the BBC's studio in Cape Town.

Joining Gary in the studio will be Alan Hansen and former England internationals Alan Shearer and Lee Dixon.

Gordon Strachan also returns as part of the World Cup TV team to give his unique take on the tournament's main talking points.

They will be joined on the sofa by five very special guests.

Jurgen Klinsmann was a World Cup winner with Germany in 1990. He also captained Germany to the Euro 1996 title in England. His glittering career saw him win 108 caps for Germany, scoring 11 goals in 17 World Cup matches.

As coach, he led his national side to third place on home soil at the 2006 World Cup.

Clarence Seedorf is the only player to have won the Champions League with three different clubs.

Seedorf has played under several coaches, who will be leading countries at the World Cup, including England's Fabio Capello, Ivory Coast's Sven-Goran Eriksson and Italy's Marcelo Lippi.

Emmanuel Adebayor is a former African Footballer of the Year who has played at the highest level of international football with Togo at the 2006 World Cup.

Adebayor made his international debut, aged 16, in July 2000. He was the top scorer in the African qualifying tournament for the 2006 World Cup, with 11 goals, and played in all three of Togo's matches at the finals in Germany.

Harry Redknapp is the manager of Tottenham Hotspur and will arrive on the BBC sofas fresh from leading the north London club to fourth place in the Premier League and qualification for the Champions League for the first time.

He took over as Bournemouth boss in 1983, meaning his managerial career now spans four decades, and was named Barclays manager of the year this season.

Roy Hodgson, as manager of Fulham, also enjoyed a fantastic season, leading the Cottagers to the Europa League final and 12th in the Premier League table.

The 62-year-old, a boss for 34 years, has managed 15 teams in his career, including Inter Milan twice, and earned his own managerial accolade this season in being named manager of the year by the League Managers' Association.

Match commentators are Guy Mowbray,Jonathan Pearce, Steve Wilson, Simon Brotherton and Steve Bower, with co-commentary from Mark Lawrenson, Mark Bright, Mick McCarthy and Martin Keown.

Colin Murray will present the BBC Two World Cup highlights show.

Bringing viewers all the latest news from the England camp will be Gabby Logan. As well as relaying regular updates from the England base, she will also report pitch-side from all of the home-nation's games.

And filing daily reports on this website from his 10th World Cup finals will be the inimitable John Motson.

Motty will be making regular video reports from Cape Town, offering expert insight and opinion as well as recalling his own fond memories of previous tournaments.
