NZXT H210(i) + Kraken X63? GPU length?

I currently playing with some options for my new build.

 

I wonder if anybody tried the combination of NZXT H210(i) and NZXT Kraken X63.

The H210 support 280mm rad in front so it should(!) work. (please confirm or correct me here)

The Kraken Z63 is 56mm (30mm rad + 26mm fans) thick. The max GPU length supported for H210 is up to 325mm. Does that leave me with a max length of 269mm for the GPU?

I couldn't find a schematic for the case... I wish case manufactures would supply these.

A standard dual fan card should work, I am attempting a push pull fan config on a 240mm rad in the H210 so If I remember I will let you know how that goes for me. 

 

The H210 allows for fans to be mounted in front of the rad support bracket as well which helps with more room for the GPU, but not sure about 2x 140mm fans.

Good point. Didn't think of that option. But wouldn't that effect airflow?

Yes, the fans will be pressed up closer to the front panel. In my case I am going to have the front panel cutout at a local CNC shop to help with this. But not the ideal use case under normal conditions.

 

The X63 rad is no thicker than the X52, so you should be fine with a dual fan GPU though with the fans mounted the standard way.

Might be a bit late here but H210 can hold a 280/240mm AIO with a push-pull fan config. However with fans placed in front of the rad/fan mount they are choked by the front panel and the dust filter cannot be used.

I am going to be modding my front panel though.

 

With the rad and fan behind the mount the GPU length is limited to a standard 2 fan card, about 267mm.

Maybe I'll put two Noctua -NF-A12x15 in the front. Since they are only 15mm, Airflow could get a little bit better.

So I got my H210 and my Kraken Z63 now (yes the fancy one).

 

There is only one way I could fit this 280mm radiator into the case: case inside -> fans -> radiator. No other way seems to be possible. That leaves me with a max GPU length of about 280mm.

The radiator does not fit through the front. No way (so no pre-mounting :( ), But that's only a minor issue.

 

I had to remove the red cable management bracket because of the tubes.

 

After installing the radiator, I could reinstall the bracket again. Looks actually quiet nice. It bother me a bit that the tube are now (softly) pressed agains the top fan. But it's not so bad. Maybe I can route the tubes different.

And here is the reason why you can't install a 280mm radiator directly to the case:

The cables of the front panel connections don't allow it :( So radiator and fans must be place inside the case.

So, I guess, my current GPU will not fit (300mm) :/ I am not really surprised, but a bit disappointed..

 

One option would be to buy a new graphic card now, instead of waiting for the next-gen stuff. I'll have to think about that...

Might be a bit late here but H210 can hold a 280/240mm AIO with a push-pull fan config. However with fans placed in front of the rad/fan mount they are choked by the front panel and the dust filter cannot be used. 

 

So the push/pull is not possible with a 280mm. Just for info. (should have replied with the prior post). :)

I have to admit I have no technical reason for the decision. The child in me took over and I wanted that display on the pump :) (And I don't regret it, yet. I'll find a solution, no matter what it costs).

Maybe some case modding? Or a larger ITX tower, the Phanteks Evolv ITX is larger.

I am no good at modding. I don't have the skills or the tools ;)

Maybe. But I am currently looking into fitting GPUs. At least in this config the airflow is not affected by fans in the front.

There are some decent cards in 280mm and below. I'm currently comparing 5700XT and 2070 Super (avalilability, price, reviews).

Of course that's a bigger investment than a case, but I like the case.

If you are looking at GPU's consider waiting for next gen, you could always get a cheaper air cooler to use in the meantime.

Just an FYI, fit in the EVGA CLC 280mm into the case with a push configuration. just a little bit of work with screwing in the fan through the front plate.

 

Screw in top fan with 2 screws (preferably the top left and bottom right) diagonally first then use the top fan to level the bottom fan. Screw in the bottom right and top left for the bottom fan.

 

Clearance allowed for a 280mm graphics card, but I wouldn't push it to 280mm... You'll need at least 10mm of clearance to finesse the graphics card in. Lol.

I put one addtional fan on the top half of the radiator, because the lower half so cramped. Don't know if it  helps, but I had the fan and the Kraken had an empty PWM plug.

I also ordere a second front plate for some experimentation. I'm not sure, but I might just drill some holes in it. But then, I guess, it would look terrible since I would do it by hand. Maybe one or two big cut-outs with some mesh..

Looks good though! The aio hose cabling is a little wonky through the top so I opted out and just left it more straight to reduce the tension on the hoses.

This thread saved my day, since I am building a computer with an h210 and o was searching all through the internet to see if my 267mm card would fit with a radiator, and thank to this it did!!! YAY!
