The Data Science department uses state-of-the-art machine learning and optimization techniques to continuously improve business processes at NEW YORKER. We work in agile project teams on a variety of use cases, including image recognition, order optimization, pricing, distribution and logistics. We are a very ambitious and international team and are proud of our high standards.
YOUR TASKS:
- Design, build and maintain APIs and data processing pipelines
- Design and implement backend data models and query these efficiently
- Design and implement end-to-end Frontend web applications and maintain existing ones
- Write pythonic code with good test coverage and documentation
- Design and develop continuous integration & deployment processes
- Work closely with Python Backend and Frontend Developers, Data Engineers and Data Scientists to operationalize internal Data Science products
- Participating in code reviews and mentorship of Python developers
YOUR PROFILE:
- Completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable degree program
- Two or more years of experience working as a Full Stack Python Developer or similar position, e.g. (Backend) Software Engineer
- Ability to write efficient, well-tested code with a keen eye on scalability and maintainability in Python
- Exude the Zen of Python
- Knowledge of Frontend JavaScript/HTML/CSS, enough to write, understand and traverse code written mostly with the React framework
- Solid knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Good knowledge of Linux / UNIX systems is an advantage
- Experience with container systems such as Docker, Kubernetes or Mesos is an advantage
- You are a team player and strong communicator with a hands-on mentality
