Used one of these to expand an old Dell for use as a pfSense firewall. Seemed like a good value, since you can't find dual Gigabit Ethernet PCI cards anywhere. After arriving, it was apparent there were no actual Intel-branded components on the card, but the OS drivers did recognize them as Intel. Didn't concern me much, as the throughput maxed out the old PCI 32bit x 33MHz bus. Around 660Mbits, more than enough to manage routing a 100Mbit connection. Unfortunately, it died just after the three month mark. The OS still sees the card, but the ports don't light up, and the OS doesn't recognize that any cable is plugged in. Could be a fluke, and your mileage may vary. Luckily it was cheap, so you wouldn't be out by much. Just make sure you've got redundancy or a backup plan in your setup, don't make this a single point of failure.Read full review
