SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Down Syndrome Group of the Ozarks held their annual ‘Step Up for Down Syndrome’ party on Saturday.

The group partnered with the Springfield Cardinals baseball team, while the Springfield Expo Center hosted the event.

Carnival games, bounce houses, raffles, music and dancing were part of the festivities to help raise awareness for down syndrome.

Stephanie Miller, the Executive Director for Down Syndrome Group of the Ozarks says, “This is our largest fundraiser of the year — plus, awareness event. So this is really important not just for the funds but  for people to see us out in the community and know that we’re here to help members and their families with down syndrome.”

After the party, everyone paraded to the Cardinals stadium to kick some dirt in the dugout and secure special seating during the game.
