The company has announced that Disney+ will launch in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and other countries in Western Europe on March 31, 2020.

During Disney's invester call, CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Disney+ will "launch in Western Europe on March 31" next year. The company specified that this includes the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain, with "more to be announced soon".

- "Just announced: Disney+ will be available in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain (and more to be announced soon) starting on March 31st," the company said.

The company also announced the news on social media and in the video embedded below. It is not clear which other countries Disney are referring to but it appears that March 31, 2020, marks Disney's big entry into the western part of Europe.

Disney+ will launch on November 12, 2019, in the US, Canada and Netherlands and one week later in Australia and New Zealand. It is only a handful of countries and even by March 2020 Disney's reach will be far more limited than that of Amazon, Netflix, and Apple TV+. Apple launched its streaming service last week in over 100 countries.

Pricing details for the new regions were not announced but will most likely be similar to the 7 Euro per month subscription price in the Netherlands.

The company has previously confirmed that Disney+ will roll out in Eastern Europe and Latin America from late 2020, and that its ambition is to bring the service to most of the world within two years from November 2019. Disney projects 60-90 million subscribers by 2024. For comparison, Netflix had 158 million subscribers as of September 2019.
