Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

My first picture in the Guardians of the Lambs foot thread, what do I need to join just the knife? Here's the knife I won in Andy's, (bonzodog's GAW knife). Here's the ice jam at point of the Gap, Delaware Watergap PA. An Ice jam and a Lambs foot by A.Wright & Son's Lambs foot wrapped with a gorgeous Stag set of covers. This knife fits my hand like a glove.

Arrghh! You guys are killin' me, all these beautiful knives, even the pocket worn plain Jane nothing special EDCs are great lookin' knives. This is a sector of collectin' I never gave much thought to and now I'm sorry I didn't. I'm really sorry I gave the only one I ever had away. Not the givin' away part because that was genuine but the fact that I never really used it and gave it it a chance. I had so many modern folders I was carryin', caught up in the tactical craze I never gave it a chance. Well that's changed and I am learning the subtle and no so subtle differences between English and American born folders.

Havin' only gone through 10 pages of this thread so far I've already learned some and seen some knice eye candy to make me drool. Never realized that so much diversity was possible in a single pattern without changing the pattern. Reminds me of the French Laguiole knives and all the variations of their folder without ever changing the pattern. Like the Laguiole, the Lambsfoot seems to have infinite possibilities but no matter what they do the knife will always be unmistakenly a Lambsfoot. Kinda like Jersey bein' the only "New" state that doesn't require the "New" in front of it when you say it or write it. Everyone knows exactly what you mean. There doesn't seem to be any ambiguity about the pattern like there can be with so many others like a Jack Knife for example. There are many knives that are Jack Knife like so it's open for interpretation, not so with the eloquent Lambsfoot, the knife that wants to be it all. Are there any lambsfoot fixed blades? If so I'd love to see some of those, if not, we need to find someone to make some. :)

I can't get back what I lost in givin' the one I had away, my bad for never givin' it a chance but I will make up for lost time with this one.

I think I have some direction for a change in my accumulatin', I'm actually gonna try to start a Lambsfoot collection thanks to Andy and the rest of you enablers. Well start is the operative word but that's the fun and the challenge, considerin' lambsfoot patterns are about as common here as BSW (British Standard Whitworth) fasteners are. ;) (inside joke for British mc and auto enthusiasts :) ) Searchin' them out and huntin' them down is the sport, that's the fun part, along with the stories and people I'll meet. I'm sure I'll notice them more at the local gun and knife shows now.

Kind People, Guardians of the Lambsfoot... What have you done? I'm blamin ' you if the Mrs questions any additional time spent lookin' at Lambsfoot knives or money spent on them. LOL :D Have a great Sunday folks, I have more pictures to look through, maybe I'll buy the Mrs lunch and draw the attention away from me. :)

Great photos, Ted! I like that groove on the pile side of your Lambsfoot.

Despondent this morning because of the news that two beautiful horn Lambsfoot knives, sent to a member here, were damaged in the post by the USPS :(

That's always a sad thing to hear :( . I've shipped fragile glass lamp globes half way around the world without any breakage yet have shipped steel rods and bar stock having them arrive bent and mangled. Post is funny that way ... ;)

That’s a shame

Yeah, words like 'Priority' and 'Special Delivery' don't seem to mean a lot when it comes to mail :(

My first Lambsfoot just arrived unscathed. A fine looking Rosewood A. Wright.
A big shout-out to Jack Black!

Sorry to hear about the horn Lambsfoot knives.

Glad to hear it survived Scylla, Charybdis, and USPS Hugh! ;) Hope you like it my friend

Jack Black Jack Black - A fine Midnight Special Lambsfoot and pocket slip showed up here in Central New York yesterday. Thanks, Jack! It's a wonderful knife and I'll treasure it! A very nice slip too, @Pàdruig ! I'm happy to be a member of the "Guardians of The Lambsfoot"!
I appreciate the postcard and pin too.
My wife wants to know if the Guardians are a secret society? I told her I couldn't tell her and if I did I'd have to take her out to dinner!
Thanks again, my friend!

LOL! Very good Gary :D Welcome to The Guardians ;) :D

Maybe as a secret recognition sign we could wear headgear like Cleese wore as Tim the Enchanter in Holy Grail.

Excellent idea Brother Jer ;) :D

I got my first lambsfoot in the mail, through the generous efforts of Jack.
What a disappointment in the USPS. 2 knives were shipped and I only got 1. The packing was torn apart and the knife I did get has been smashed. How this damage occurred I could not even guess.
I would like to again thank Jack for generous efforts to spread these knives among us.
