Entry level Mahindra XUV500 W3 misses out on fog lamps, LED DRLs and chrome finishing on grille and infotainment system

Mahindra’s widely popular SUV XUV500 has received a new entry-level variant, christened as W3. Priced at Rs 12.22 lakh (ex-showroom), the Mahindra XUV500 W3 comes shedding a lot of features available in the higher trims. These include the LED daytime running lights, chrome finishing on the front grille etc.

Mahindra XUV500 W3 also misses out on the fog lamps, black cladding. It rides on a set of 17-inch steel wheels without any hub caps. The pillars come sans black accents. No wonder, the Mahindra XUV500 W3 lose its glamour but the practicality and unmistakable silhouette remain intact.

Inside the cabin, Mahindra XUV500 W3 sports an all-black theme. It doesn’t come with soft-touch materials. However, the black Jacquard fabric upholstery is there. There is no audio system. But the rest of the cabin in remains the same layout as the higher variants.

While these are the features the new variant of this car misses out, there are projector headlamps, engine start-stop button, electrically adjustable ORVMs, front and rear air conditioning etc. For power, the Mahindra XUV500 relies on a 2.2-litre four-cylinder m-Hawk diesel engine that is capable of churning out 154 bhp of power and 360 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox does transmission duty. Meanwhile, the homegrown auto manufacturer has started working on the new generation model of the SUV that is likely to launch sometime next year.
