4 Sources Of Hidden Dirt in Your Home

Keeping the house clean can be a tough job but it’s important because if you don’t, you’re putting your health at risk. But is your house really as clean as you think it is? You might have gotten rid of all of the dirt that you can see but what about all of the germs that you can’t see?

There are so many different places around the home where dirt can hide and most people don’t realize that it’s there. These are some of the most common places where you’ll find hidden dirt in your home.

The Top Of Kitchen Cabinets

This is an area that most people don’t think of because it’s always out of sight. You’ll clean down the front of the kitchen cabinets because you can see all of the food splatter and dirt that build up on there and it looks messy but people always neglect the top of the cabinets. If you get up there and have a look, you’ll be horrified at how dirty it can get.

Grease from cooking will float up and settle on there and mix up with all of the dust. It’s a big job to clean it for the first time if you’ve left it for ages but after that, it only takes 5 minutes to give them a quick wipe when you’re doing the rest of the kitchen.

Air Conditioning Units

Nobody ever thinks about cleaning an air conditioning unit but you need to do it from time to time. When it’s recycling all of that air, it’s bound to pick up a lot of dust and dirt. The problem is, when you’re running it, it’s pumping all of those germs back out so the air quality in your house really suffers. If you’ve had yours for a long time, it might be time to get a new a/c unit to replace the old one. Air quality in the home is a big problem and it can damage your health if you don’t manage it properly.

Computer Keyboards

Computer keyboards are a breeding ground for bacteria because all of the dust and dead skin cells get into the tiny gaps between the keys. Every time you’re using the computer, you’re picking up all of those germs again and spreading them around the house.

Cleaning the keyboard can be tricky because you don’t want to put any water near anything electronic. The best thing to do is use an antibacterial wipe to clean the surface of the keys and then get a can of compressed air to clean out all of the gaps as well. From time to time, you should remove all of the keys and give it a proper clean.

The Cleaning Products Themselves

This isn’t to do with germs, but it’s a danger that you need to think about. Some cleaning products have a lot of harsh chemicals in them and all of that stuff is floating around your home if you’re using them regularly. If you’re worried about it, it’s best to switch to some green alternatives instead to improve the air quality in your home.

Most people miss these areas of hidden dirt around the home and if you’re not careful, it could have a negative effect on your health.
