Albuquerque Public Schools is educating teachers and administrators on how to relate with mentally ill youth.APS said the mental health first aid training will be similar to people learning first aid or CPR.Teachers, administrators and other staff will take a 12-hour course Thursday, learning how to identify mental health issues, their risks and how they impact people.They'll also learn how to assess mental health crises and how to intervene safely.While Thursday is the first time that APS is hosting the course, officials said they will hold monthly sessions through June.
