A disabled Australian teen has been tortured by a girl gang in a sickening assault police describe as the worst they've ever seen.

The 17-year-old has been left permanently disfigured by the attack, which was filmed by one of the girls.

Police allege that three girls lured the victim, described as intellectually disabled, to a park in Moe, Victoria by saying she would be meeting up with her boyfriend.

However when she arrived she was subjected to a brutal beating. The defenceless teen was repeatedly forced to inhale glass, believed to be from her smashed iPhone.

Her hands were also burnt on a hot BBQ, her head was slammed into a picnic table and she was kicked in the face.

The victim's mother told Ten News her daughter was left "unrecognisable" by the torture.

"It's just incomprehensible that anyone would do that, it's not even animalistic, animals don't even do that kind of stuff," she told Australia's Ten Network.

"The amount of times they pummelled her head into that picnic table is disgusting. Her face is so black and blue she is unrecognisable... she can't get her glasses on because her cheekbones are so swollen up."

The footage was uploaded to Facebook by the alleged offenders.

Detective Senior Constable Michael Thek told media senior police describe it as the worst they've ever seen.

"The footage is pretty graphic," he said.

"A lot of senior police here say it's one of the worst assaults they've seen in some 30 years."

The three girls have been charged with robbery and assault. They are two 15-year-olds and one 12-year-old.
