The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists that a multi-year reconstruction project continues next week on I-80 eastbound and westbound between Danville, Montour County and Limestoneville, Northumberland County.

Starting on Monday December 4, 2023, through Friday, December 22, 2023, the contractor will be performing tree removal along Interstate 80 in both directions between the Northumberland County line (mile marker 217) and just west of Exit 232 (Buckhorn / Route 42) in Columbia County. Motorists can expect alternating lane restrictions where work is being performed. Work will be performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM, weather permitting.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for stopped or slow-moving vehicle, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.

Work on this project includes roadway reconstruction, resurfacing, structure replacement, rehabilitation, preservation, lighting, and other miscellaneous work. This multi-year project is expected to be completed in 2027.
