Description:
The main tasks include:
- Designing the content strategy: the strategic plan for creating and distributing content on social platforms based on objectives.
- Producing content in the many formats used by social platforms: texts, micro-texts, images, videos, audio. Sometimes the SMM coordinates and supervises content created by others, such as junior team members or external collaborators like videographers or content creators.
- Managing the editorial plan: planning content distribution, scheduling post publication on various channels, and monitoring them.
- Community management: to keep the audience engaged and active, the SMM regularly responds to comments, questions, and reviews, carries on conversations, and facilitates customer care.
- Producing real-time content: the world of social media often requires seizing the opportunity of a trending topic or reacting to a current event by creating impromptu posts not foreseen in the editorial plan.
- Collecting and interpreting data using specific tools (social media analytics software, Facebook Insights).
- Social listening: listening and analyzing what is being said online about the brand through dedicated tools.
- Social advertising: the SMM may independently handle sponsored campaigns, managing budgets and the creative component of ads.
- Keeping informed on a multitude of topics: updates on algorithms and social platforms, trending topics and current events, the most effective techniques and formats.
- Researching third-party content, not only to monitor competition but to keep the audience's interest alive with non-self-referential content.
