2.3 bln euro to be allocated to electricity cable which will connect Georgia with Romania

Within the framework of Economic Partnership Agreement of European Union (EU), 2,3 bln euro will be invested for deployment of strategic electricity cable under the Black Sea from Georgia to Romania, Oliver Varhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement posted on his Twitter, APA reports.

“Electricity cable will connect Georgia and whole Caucasus to Romania, and will allow exporting green energy to Europe,” said EU Commissioner.

He noted that electricity cable will strengthen mutual resilience of sides.

He stressed that Economic and Investment plan of Eastern Partnership which values 17 bln euro includes various fields such as transport projects, digital communication.
