Summary[edit]

Description
English: This is from our W.D. Hogan collection. We knew it was Dublin, and believed it was December 1922/January 1923 - Robinson Crusoe on at the Queen's Theatre, Father Christmas on the Heather ad, and heavy wintry looking clothing supports this dating. But we thought the damage to the building in the background was presumably Civil War related, and we were wrong.

It emerged (through some great research by our commenters) that the damage was caused by a fire in which five people died. The location was established as the corner of Summerhill and Langrishe Place in Dublin.

Date: Monday, 8 January 1923 (assuming this photo was taken the day after the fire)
