MORGANTON, N.C. (WBTV) – A Burke County teen was sentenced to at least 12 years in prison for sex crimes against a 12-year-old autistic boy.
Caldwell County court officials say Brandon Lee Sprouse, 19 of Morganton, “inappropriately touched the 12-year-old male victim, who has a moderate form of autism, and had the boy perform sexual acts on him,” in March 2015.
Sprouse pleaded guilty Thursday to first-degree sex offense and taking indecent liberties with a child.
Friday, Superior Court Judge Daniel A. Kuehnert sentenced Sprouse to 12 to 19 years at the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.
