Paris, France – Nissan Europe has revamped its communications team, making a number of appointments to its leadership in a move which introduces a new team structure.

Katherine Zachary is named Divisional General Manager of Communications for Nissan in Europe. In this new role, Katherine will oversee all of Nissan Europe's communications activity, covering corporate, product, and internal communications. She will drive communications strategy working closely with the organization's senior leadership while also moving forward its social responsibility programme in Europe. She will be based in Paris.

Katherine's promotion follows two years serving as General Manager, Global Light Commercial Vehicle Communications at the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. Since joining Nissan in 2004, Katherine has successfully tackled a diverse range of responsibilities across corporate and brand communications, has worked extensively on the company's leading zero-emissions strategy, and has led major product launches, both in Europe and her home country of the United States.

Also being added to strengthen the team is Vanessa Levy, the new General Manager for Internal and Product Communications. Vanessa returns to the region after nearly three years serving as Director of Internal Communications for Nissan North America in the United States. Vanessa previously spent 15 years at Groupe Renault, both in France and in Russia leading internal and external communications across a variety of executive roles.

Additionally, Friederike Kienitz expands her remit to become Vice President of Legal, External Affairs and Communications for the region. She will contribute her vast policy experience to the enhanced communications function and will ensure a more joined-up approach with stakeholders. Friederike reports directly to Nissan Europe Chairman Gianluca De Ficchy.

The revamped communications team also sees David Jackson (Communications Director, Nissan Motor GB) take on new responsibilities to become General Manager of Markets and Operations. He will coordinate communications for all Nissan markets in Europe, including Russia, Spain, France, Germany and the Nordics. Paul James completes the new line up as General Manager of Corporate Communications, a role he assumed in 2018.
