Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

You're welcome! I don't post much theses days, not much to say! :(:D

That's a shame JP, I'm sure I'm far from alone in having always enjoyed your posts :) I don't post anywhere near as much as I used to myself these days though. I guess that happens with most of us who have been here a while. Make sure you enter my giveaway my friend

Evening Guardians hope all is well with everyone. Well today I had a mishap with my Guardians lambsfoot while using it I felt something in my hand well turns out the small imperfection I had on the knife broke lose. It was um near the bolster and now the bolster is super sharp at the bottom. So do you guys think I could buff the edge off the bottom of the bolster with my dremel? Would like to hear how you guys would fix this.
Do you mean a piece of bone chipped off? If so, you could patch it with epoxy, or, as you say, just buff down the sharp spots. I'd advise starting with very fine sandpaper, rather than any power tools.

That doesn't stop any of us! :D:p

I agree with r8shell Keith, epoxy may sound crude, but with a little care, you can get a really good repair, which can be hard to spot  I wouldn't touch the nickel silver bolster, and definitely not with power tools

I seem to go through posting phases. Sometimes I think everybody wants to hear anything I have to say about everything (like now, apparently), and I must post a photo of every knife that fits any thread, and having nothing to say won't stop me.
Sometimes I think nobody, including me, cares two straws, so I give us all a break.

This one seems to be infinitely supplied with black crud that runs out when I oil it.

Not a problem, just a minor marvel.

LOL! :D You know, I don't think I've flushed out any of mine! :D I ran a bit more oil than usual through the joint of my Guardian, not a great deal though  :D

Pics are always good ;)

Good morning Guardians!:) I’m home again today, still recouping from some minor surgery. I’m doing some oiling and wiping and such. I thought I would post this one again. I’m really proud to have this Humphreys Radiant Real Lamb Foot in my collection!:D

Hope you're doing OK my friend :) It's been too long since we've seen your Humphrey's Radiant, one of the nicest old knives in our collective Lambsfoot collections I think :)

Welcome to the Guardians my friend! :) How do you find your Lambsfoot? I don't have any of the jigged bone models from A.Wright yet. I once enquired about that exact model in a Sheffield shop, but they didn't have it in stock. I hope that you find the Lambsfoot pattern useful

Many thanks Mr. Jack. I've been researching and found the English site (Heinnie.com) which has for sale very good prices several knives of A. Wright and Joseph Rodgers.
It is my first lambsfoot and I liked the bone, it is very comfortable in the hand.
Maybe the next one is in stag, my favorite material !!!

Very interesting Dylan, nice spoons - and they go with your Lambsfoot! :) Charlie @waynorth has an old 19th century horn-handled knife and fork I sent him some years back, they're in his horn display :) I come across the forks from time to time, and the horn seems none the worse for their age. Sadly the knives are rarer

Nice knife and picture, herder!!
Great spoons, and Lambsfoot, Dylan!! Do you know the origin of the spoons?
The following are courtesy of Jack, for which I am eternally grateful!!
Thanks for these, and also for keeping the museum(s) honest!!

Thank you, Charlie and Jack. Sadly, I do not know where the horn spoons originated. I believe I picked them up from a booth at a Saturday/Farmer's Market some time ago. There was a bunch of them in a cup for a couple bucks a piece. If I were to venture a guess, I would probably say they are imported. I like these spoons in particular because they are of a blonde-ish horn where a lot of the imported horn I see is from Buffalo which tends to be considerably darker. As a matter of fact, I do believe I have a black horn spoon somewhere as well, I will have to see if I can dig it up.

Wonderful antique set, by the way, Charlie, a real pleasure to see.

Guess where my wife and daughter obtained a rosewood Lambsfoot for me back in April? :p

I hope you recover quickly, Ron! At least you have an exceptional knife or two to keep you company ;). That Humphreys is quite the knife, you most certainly should be proud.

Well, it is Wooden Wednesday, after all, so this guy is in the pocket today. I hope all of you Guardians are having a great Wednesday so far!
