Deputies: Handicapped woman terrorized, seriously injured after being kidnapped by neighbor
A handicapped woman encountered a frightening experience Monday night after letting a neighbor use her phone. Davidson County Sheriff's Office said they were called to a Lexington home in the 200 block of Meadowview Road on Monday night after the woman had allowed her neighbor, Ryan McTheny, 44, to come inside her home to use the telephone. The woman said that a few moments later, McTheny pushed her to the ground and dragged her across the floor and then tied her up. McTheny is accused of then stealing a .22 caliber pistol from the woman and holding her against her will for more than two hours before leaving the home. Deputies found McTheny hiding under an outbuilding at his home and was arrested. Authorities said the woman was terrorized and seriously injured during the ordeal. McTheny is charged with first-degree kidnapping, assault on a handicapped person and larceny of a firearm. McTheny was taken before the Davidson County Magistrate and his bail was set at $250,000.
