MINT HILL, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — A group home supervisor at New Place, Inc. in Mint Hill is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile who was in his care.

Reginald Jackson was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of sexual activity by a substitute parent or custodian, according to Mint Hill Police.

Police say the incident allegedly took place at the group home located on Batten Court in Mint Hill on July 6. A warrant was obtained on Aug. 1 and the arrest was made on Oct. 4.

Neighbors told FOX 46 Charlotte there have been more than 911 calls to the group home this year alone and that there is little supervision.

“I mean, just sending them somewhere to get a check from the state…that’s not what we’re about,” Jonathan W. Thompson said. Let’s get them the proper help they need so they can go back to their homes.”

Thompson was not surprised that a supervisor is charged with sex crimes with one of the girls.

“I mean, every day it’s something,” he said. “Every day.”
