Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Very nice :)

It might be worth writing PRUNER HANDLE in block capitals on the order form! :D What covers are you thinking of getting?
I'm torn at the moment. I really like wood, but I don't own a single knife in stag so that's something I'm considering.

Yes indeed my friend!!!:thumbsup: Two mighty fine choices! :D

Jack that is a beautiful knife! Just some outstanding Walnut! :D

Thanks a lot Ron ;)

@ADEE gave me a couple of pairs of old Sambar scales a few months back, and at some point I'll get them put on a two knives, but I wish the Sheffield cutlers could still get hold of stag of this quality. Some of those old Sheffield stag knives were really something

Those are some beautiful scales Jack! Looks like a pair for a Pruner Handle version and a pair for a Straight version. :)

Thanks Ron, that's what I was thinking ;) I actually took them over to Wright's six months ago, but then they had a few knives made up with Sambar, so I grabbed those instead - as I dare say you remember! ;) :D  On my most recent visit, they had used a few bits of Sambar they had had for Peach Pruners! o_O

I do indeed remember that trip my friend!!;)

Thank you very much, it's walnut, and was a generous gift from Mr @bonzodog :)

Some more pics

Jack that is a very nice looking knife you have there , I think after floating the fly past me you have set the hook , I now have three of A Wrights knives and the last one that was a mistake I took out into the garden in the brief spell of sunshine this morning and it turns out it sits well in the hand and is an absolute joy to use.

LOL! :D Thank you my friend, I'm glad to hear you've been getting some use out of that one, hope you're having a pleasant Sunday :)

Arrghh! You guys are killin' me, all these beautiful knives, even the pocket worn plain Jane nothing special EDCs are great lookin' knives. This is a sector of collectin' I never gave much thought to and now I'm sorry I didn't. I'm really sorry I gave the only one I ever had away. Not the givin' away part because that was genuine but the fact that I never really used it and gave it it a chance. I had so many modern folders I was carryin', caught up in the tactical craze I never gave it a chance. Well that's changed and I am learning the subtle and no so subtle differences between English and American born folders.

Havin' only gone through 10 pages of this thread so far I've already learned some and seen some knice eye candy to make me drool. Never realized that so much diversity was possible in a single pattern without changing the pattern. Reminds me of the French Laguiole knives and all the variations of their folder without ever changing the pattern. Like the Laguiole, the Lambsfoot seems to have infinite possibilities but no matter what they do the knife will always be unmistakenly a Lambsfoot. Kinda like Jersey bein' the only "New" state that doesn't require the "New" in front of it when you say it or write it. Everyone knows exactly what you mean. There doesn't seem to be any ambiguity about the pattern like there can be with so many others like a Jack Knife for example. There are many knives that are Jack Knife like so it's open for interpretation, not so with the eloquent Lambsfoot, the knife that wants to be it all. Are there any lambsfoot fixed blades? If so I'd love to see some of those, if not, we need to find someone to make some. :)

I can't get back what I lost in givin' the one I had away, my bad for never givin' it a chance but I will make up for lost time with this one.

I think I have some direction for a change in my accumulatin', I'm actually gonna try to start a Lambsfoot collection thanks to Andy and the rest of you enablers. Well start is the operative word but that's the fun and the challenge, considerin' lambsfoot patterns are about as common here as BSW (British Standard Whitworth) fasteners are. ;) (inside joke for British mc and auto enthusiasts :) ) Searchin' them out and huntin' them down is the sport, that's the fun part, along with the stories and people I'll meet. I'm sure I'll notice them more at the local gun and knife shows now.

Kind People, Guardians of the Lambsfoot... What have you done? I'm blamin ' you if the Mrs questions any additional time spent lookin' at Lambsfoot knives or money spent on them. LOL :D Have a great Sunday folks, I have more pictures to look through, maybe I'll buy the Mrs lunch and draw the attention away from me. :)

You guys need t-shirts that say “Lambfoot Life” and maybe with the subtitle “Ewe got lamb?”

Seriously though, this thread is great and too tempting not to join. When my resolution is fulfilled, I think a lamb foot will be my first purchase.

That's a real beauty, Jack. And those old stag slabs are killer!! Nice gift from ADEE!!
They could make a large jackknife proud - maybe a huge pruner!
