The Ghostlight Series is a go. The live streamed concert series featuring original music by Wilmington artists starts 7 p.m. Monday, March 23, with a show at 7 p.m. each night this week.

Concerts will be streamed at WilsonCenterTickets.com/Ghostlight-Series, with an encore broadcast at noon each day on the Wilson Center’s Facebook page.

Announced last week by the Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College and The Arts Council of Wilmington and New Hanover County, the series aims to help support area musicians affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many have lost gigs due to the temporary closure of so many venues, and the series aims to give them back the spotlight. Donations to artists can be made via the Arts Council before, during or after the concert.

An Arts Council committee selected the initial round of seven artists, and is continuing to accept applications for upcoming performances.

The first week of performances will feature folk pop singer Chase Johanson (Monday); rock and pop singer Delia Stanley (Tuesday); classical harpist Christina Brier; rock, pop and soul singer and guitarist Jared Michael Cline; New-Orleans-style R&B band The Rhythm Bones; pianist Daniel Rottenberg; and country pop singer Johanna Winkel.

A full schedule of which performer is playing which night has not yet been announced.

Each nightly performance will be 30 minutes, and will be collected into broadcast to air later on public radio WHQR.
