While movie theaters remain shut in many parts of the world, Netflix has announced that it will premiere a new movie every single week of 2021.

Red Notice starring Gal Gadot, 'The Rock', and Ryan Reynolds, Don’t Look Up starring Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio, The Harder They Fall starring Idris Elba and Regina King as well as Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead are just some of the new Netflix movies planned for 2021.
The streaming giant will premiere at least one new movie every week. 70 titles have been confirmed.
- "Here's a reason to get excited about 2021: Netflix has a new movie coming out every single week! This is just a sneak peak of the full list, which ranges from superheroes, to westerns, thrillers, rom-coms, action, comedy, and sometimes all of those things combined — and always with the world's biggest and best stars, directors, and fresh faces. Get hyped, people, because this year is gonna be a big one," said Netflix.
On top of that, subscribers will get new TV series, documentaries etc. Netflix is expected to spend $19 billion dollars on content in 2021 alone, according to one estimate by Bankr. That is up from approximately $9 billion in 2017.
Disney+ recently announced its plans for 2021 and beyond, saying that it is planning to invest $8-9 billion annually by 2024. Warner will premiere all 2021 movies simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max. Apple is also investing billions of dollars in its TV+ service, according to estimates. However, none of them are investing in new streaming content as aggressively as Netflix.
