If you travel on eastbound I-80 near West Des Moines you should be aware of upcoming overnight road closures that may slow down your trip.
Our crews need to close eastbound I-80 between Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118) and Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121), at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, December 11, until 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, and at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, until 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, weather permitting.
These closures will allow the contractor to remove an overhead truss and install a new one.
While the roadway is closed for construction work you will follow a marked detour route using Grand Prairie Parkway, University Avenue, and Jordan Creek Parkway.
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
