A Monrovia man accused of killing his father in Rialto during a domestic dispute was arrested in Las Vegas, police said Sunday, July 11.

Curtiss Booker Jr., 31, was taken into custody without incident at about 12:20 p.m. Sunday in the 6800 block of Baby Jade Court by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Rialto Police Department said in a news release. Booker Jr. was arrested on suspicion of murder in the July 5 death of his father, Curtiss Booker Sr., 58.

On July 5, Rialto police received several calls about a gunshot victim in the 400 block of East Chaparral Street. Responding officers found Booker Sr., 58, of Temple City, lying in the front yard of a home, where he died from his injuries.

Booker Jr. was being held in a Clark County jail in the Las Vegas area until his extradition to San Bernardino County, police said.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department also assisted with the investigation.
