I started working on today’s newsletter while traveling back from South America, which included trips to Brazil, Chile, and Argentina to see regolith-hosted rare earth elements (REE) projects in Brazil and Chile. I also had the opportunity to take a short trip to Mendoza, Argentina, to discuss the potential for advancing mineral projects, particularly copper ones, in the Andean province.
Lastly, the back-and-forth crossings of the majestic mountain range provided me with some stunning photo opportunities worthy of Earth Day.
In the Weekly Market Digest, the US markets were preoccupied with the Federal Reserve's higher-for-longer mantra. Physical demand for gold from China continues to support the precious metal. Tesla’s performance suggests that selling EVs to the North American market is challenging. Also, there have been more M&As in the gold sector in South America, plus insider selling and permitting in Alaska.
The Exploration Insights Portfolio was down last week as explorers on either side of the spectrum drove the returns.
